I grew up in the 60's & 70's so I miss several old school words.

My mother used to ask, "Where are you kids gallivanting off to?" [traveling, roaming]

Another we'd hear is, "Who is he in cahoots with?" [partnering in crime, in league with]

"Far out!" [really cool, awesome]

"Don't get keyed up about it." [anxious, too excited, restless]

"Not my bag, man." [not my thing, not interested]

"Dig it!" [understand it, get with it]

"Right on!" [I agree, Yes!, Exactly!]
And did I mention I was born & raised in the Philadelphia area? Woohoo!! (Fly, Eagles!)

That weather widget on your flying eagles picture - is that reading right?
49F = 9.44444 Celsius Man, that is cold. Frigid even

Right now in sunny South Australia my local weather station indicates 30C = 86F
and on Saturday it will be 43C or 109.4F

We have just had a couple of days over 100F and it cooled down to 86F now.

The dog and the cat are both stretched out completely cooked. Poor kids can't take off their fur coats.

I spent much of my childhood in Philly. :) Eagles were always my favorite team. Maybe this time they will actually win!

flower child and flower power (them were the days)

remember the generation gap that was happening

and music that was groovy

and all that free love

and people got stoned (and not OT stoning)

and when you talked religion someone would say, man that's heavy

We're in winter. You're in summer. We just had a bout of frigid weather a couple of weeks ago, when the highs were in the 20s. 49 degrees? Hubby went outside in his shorts just to be "that guy" and to enjoy the warmth.

As for Eagles?

We're going to the Super Bowl!

(And we're going to do the thing, most Americans are convinced can't be done. We're going to beat the Patriots!!!)

I'm rooting for the Eagles too. I can't stand the Patriots.

I became a fan by default. I married a Philadelphian. And five months after we were married they went to the Super Bowl... and lost.

They did the same thing about ten years ago. (To the same team we're playing again.)

I've been a fan for 38 years now. Going to the Super Bowl isn't enough anymore. I'm tired of being the bridesmaid. This is our year to become the bride! The last time the Eagles won the championship game it wasn't called The Super Bowl! It's our time!!!

I always like it when I think how my Mom would on occasion declare, "Lawsy lawsy!" It can be used
as Lordy Lordy, but it is used to express surprise mainly.

I do say it to myself on occasion, but neer out loud; anyone hearing just would not understand.

Dig it!

(And truthfully. We only said "dig it" in jest then too, but my years were the 70's, so I remember the 60s as a child.)

Still got my mood ring. Lost my pet socks to the dryer. Never was dumb enough to buy a pet rock though. Also still have my peacock feather earrings, I just lost the piercings since then, so can't use them anymore. lol

"Well, Lordy Lordy" is said in some old black and white movies
maybe more in Ma and Pa Kettle vintage

Remember when the world was black and white?

Please reread the post. The lost word(s) is(are) lawsy, lawsy.
