ive not long come out of a relationship of 4 years. I'm trying to deal with it but its difficult, how did you get over someone and how long did it take? more so I'm living on my own (and my dog) , I have never lived on my own, I like having someone to look after, I'm very mothering if you like, I cant have him back, my heart misses what we were in the beginning but .. it can never be again, and coming to terms with that and having to see him once or twice a week is difficult. hes not the person I fell in love with. I pray to God to help me let him go completely but keep my heart whole, so far, he hears my prayers <3

it takes 6 months for half of the sadness to go away. then 2 or 3 years. I hear there are bonding chemicals that have to dissipate. Eventually someone or something else will come along to take their place.

This September will mark 5 years since my divorce. It took me almost 4 years to get over it. It wasn't until I truly turned my heart over to the Lord, that things turned around for the better! Everyone deals with things differently and the Holy Spirit also deals with everyone different. I know that this is so much easier said than done, but keep your head up and focus on Him! Just like Mandisa says, "You're an overcomer!"
