Default Okay, so I'm do a project for my business class.(Need help from computer builders)

Okay, 1st of all I do know how to build a computer my self it's just I need to get opinions from other people on my business project.

Which one of these 3 motherboard would you use to make computer for designing video games.

Newegg.com - ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer "Ultimate Gamer" choose 3Way SLI + PhysX at Real X16 X58 CEB Intel Motherboard

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX AMD Motherboard

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD9 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX Intel Motherboard

I'll probably have to post here with the choices for the other parts. I would just use my own opinions on something like this, but I'm not allowed to use my own opinion
on this project. I'm think putting together best computer parts for my project.

Subject: dylan this guy wants to build a games machine - what components should he choose

Okay, 1st of all I do know how to build a computer my self it's just I need to get opinions from other people on my business project.

Which one of these 3 motherboard would you use to make computer for designing video games.

Newegg.com - ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer "Ultimate Gamer" choose 3Way SLI + PhysX at Real X16 X58 CEB Intel Motherboard

intel over amd, 3 x sli can support 3 x daisy chained video cards greater grunt for games

I'll probably have to post here with the choices for the other parts. I would just use my own opinions on something like this, but I'm not allowed to use my own opinion on this project. I'm think putting together best computer parts for my project.

Okay, so I got a ansewer from a diffrent forum so I'm gonna go on even though I only got one answer their though I was hoping for more answers... Btw, I'm doing this as this motherboard as being the base the base for the computer. GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD9 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX Intel Motherboard

Which of these choices would you choose for each part?

CPU:
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition Gulftown 3.33GHz 6 x 256KB L2 Cache 12MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor
more speed more cores

Video Cards:

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N480D5-15I-B GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
alot of people prefer nvidia over ati (sli is ability to daisy chain additional video cards share the load)

RAM:
Newegg.com - Patriot Gamer Series 24GB (6 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model PGS324G1600ELHK
heard good things about patriot and speed support looks good

DVD or Blue Ray Burners:
Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM 8MB Cache SATA Internal Blu-ray Burner 12X Blu-ray Burner with Blu-ray 3D feature Model iHBS112 - Blu-Ray Burners
I have respect for lite-on and probably few media types support > 16x speed anyway

Speakers:
Newegg.com - Creative INSPIRE T6160 5.1 Speakers
Newegg.com - Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Digital Speaker System
either of these probasbly ok

HardDrive:
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda XT ST32000641AS 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
based on sata speed support (bad experiences with other two brands)

Sound Card:

Newegg.com - AuzenTech AZT-XFHTHD 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express X-Fi HOMETHEATER HD Audio Card
Newegg.com - ASUS Xonar D2 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Ultra Fidelity Sound Card with Complete Dolby/DTS Sound Technologies
Newegg.com - HT | OMEGA CLARO Plus+ 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
nothing really stands out here, alot of motherboards actually have same or better on most recent motherboards (probably all have the same chipset)

Case:
Newegg.com - Corsair Obsidian Series 800D CC800DW Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
based on name (all much of muchness)

Power Supply:

Newegg.com - SILVERSTONE ST1500 1500W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Active PFC Power Supply
based on watts and sli support

Monitors:

Newegg.com - Acer D240Hbmidp Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen DPF function LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 80000:1 ACM w/card reader,1GB storage and speakers
based on speed (2ms smaller the better) and contrast ratio(80000:1 bigger is better)

Yeah, just pick the part that you'd think would be out of each part. Though if you'd want to give more info, I would be intereasted in reading it.

Go with the ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer "Ultimate Gamer" choose 3Way SLI + PhysX at Real X16 X58 CEB Intel Motherboard

-It can take a Core i7 or Xeon Processor and you can upgrade the board to 24GB of ECC memory. Also it looks like it has 7 PCIe slots for graphics cards. I think you may be able to actually link 4 cards together in an SLI type rig at full power to get maximum, ultimate graphics.
--
--
-G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 24GB (6 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9T2-24GBRL

I would go with this one because I think this may be the faster speed memory than the other two you had listed.
--
--

LITE-ON Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM 8MB Cache SATA Internal Blu-ray Burner 12X Blu-ray Burner with Blu-ray 3D feature Model iHBS112 -

Depending on how much you want to pay, I don't think it really matters which brand you pick here...I've had several different brands of cd/dvd/dvdrw's over the years and they've all been fine. That includes lite-on's.
--
--

Western Digital Caviar Black WD2001FASS 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

While many have brand preferences on hard drives, I have never had a bad Western Digital before. I think they are good drives. If anything, for faster performance, you may want to look into Solid State drives or another option would be to set up a RAID 0 configuration with 10,000 RPM hard drives.
--
--

AuzenTech AZT-XFHTHD 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express X-Fi HOMETHEATER HD Audio Card

You can get this, but I think you may end up being satisfied with the onboard sound card on the motherboard already. It already comes with digital sound and a coaxial port and spid/f out so you can hook it up to a stereo system. I would just do that if I were you.
--
--

LIAN LI PC-B71 Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Personally, I would get this case, because it's aluminum and because I like their products---I've had an eye on them for many years.
--
--

Acer D240Hbmidp Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen DPF function LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 80000:1 ACM w/card reader,1GB storage and speakers

I would go with the Acer display. I'm running dual 22" acer displays and they're great.

Hope this helps,

SILVERSTONE ST1500 1500W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Active PFC Power Supply

I would also take the PSU that has the most wattage...just to play it safe. The video cards tend to draw out the most wattage.
