Something Magenta said about animals having spirits reminded me of a saying some old colored man said once.

"God, will there be any dogs in heaven? Cause if there's no dogs, I don't wanna go."

I'm glad that Amory is feeling better and also for your back. I have had many days like the one you had in your OP. Somehow, with the grace of God we live to fight another day. Maybe one day we'll get to play as well as fighting can really drain your physical and emotional resources, as well as your spiritual ones.

I believe that things will dramatically improve for you once you are finished with that school. Hopefully you'll get to come back to the states one day. I am saying a prayer of thanksgiving and praise for you right now.

You are a spiritual daughter of the Lord fighting the good fight. I also know that you are keeping your eyes on the prize.

Good, wanted to make sure it was a flare for your back (versus permanent.) And yeah, also had lingering worries the Amory was having one last rally. Sometimes, while dying, people and animals seem to have a moment when it seems like they're rallying, but it's one last surge of life before death. (I worry a lot more than I let on.)

Also, suggestion, especially after having a very bad week. Something I forget to do myself. Take time to notice the good the following week. Really take time to notice. It does three things:
1. Helps us realize "this too will pass," even if the "passing" is as painful as a gallstone passing.
2. Helps us notice God is always working things out for our good, even when our good feels good.
3. Prepares us for next bad week a little better. (It won't feel any better, even next time, but now you've noticed it doesn't always stink.)

Yea. I see by the way he looks and acts that he is on his last ralley. One reason why i try to make things as easy and comfy as possible.
The last cat died in moms arms
I don't want his last memories to be in a clinic if possible

Some vets will come to your house and put him to sleep. That's what I did when I had Tequila put to sleep..She was comfortable, in her own surroundings, and she knew that Mummy was here and was going to make it alright for her... She knew why he was here. She rubbed up on him and she's NEVER done that before with company who came over... It was expensive, but worth it...

Update
The doctors didn't get the teeth right but they will most likely try again. Next time they will pick her up in the airport and bring her in their own hotel.
I got a really bad flu now and not happy about it.
Amory likes being spoiled (me bringing him food to bed and stuff) and cuddles a lot and rarely pukes. No signs of pain.

I got influenza this year for the first time since I was about 4 (don't remember that time). It's the pits.

So sorry you're hurting and your pet is suffering :(.

We've had lots of dogs and cats and it's always painful when they reach the end of their life. They're a member of the family! Sometimes, I think 'that's it...no more animals' because it's so sad when they die.

But after a little while all the good memories come back and I know they had a good life and we enjoyed them immensely. Plus, there are lots of dogs and cats out there needing good homes. We will always have dogs...probably cats. We just lost our two senior citizen cats and are thinking of getting a couple of kittens.

It's hard to see them suffer :(.

Yep. It knocked me flat for several days, and I wasn't really up and around for a week! I don't think I'd EVER been that sick before. I hope you're better soon!
