"According to your faith shall it be done unto you."

I have come to the conclusion that our faith only SETS LIMITS as to what God can do in our life. But it does not mean that we will always get what we want just because we have faith for it.

I totally had faith that my healing was complete, all the while that little micro-ism cell of cancer was still growing in my neck. My faith was in what I wanted. So what I had faith for was not done unto me.

I think we can have faith for what God, Himself, whispers to our spirit as to what He wants to do. But, too often we might think it is God when it is just our own desires giving us the thoughts.

So now I have faith only in the love that God has for me, and the ways He wants to reveal Himself to me - and do for me. I have complete faith in His Last Word. His last word is always the beginning of something new. My faith does not set any limits - God has power over everything about me. Anything can happen. And I am in a constant state of expectancy. This is what pleases Him.

That my faith is only in Him. Not in my faith.

First hard lesson I learned from God.

"But you said..."

And God's answer ended up being, "No, I didn't. That's what you expected."

A mere 46 years later, and still he's teaching me the same lesson in new ways. Very hard not to think, "Lord, heal Joi" means he will heal you physically. It keeps feeling like "right answer."

Assuming you finally got this lesson down, how long did it take you?

The lesson is more like etched in stone now.

Always knew it, but for years, I did think that if I claimed a promise by faith, and believed it would be mine and continually praise Him for it, it would happen. Many times it did. Yet, I always bowed to whatever God wanted for me.

Faith did open doors and set no limits on what I believed God could do, but now I know that it was God's will more than my faith (if you can understand that). He has brought me many promises and lavished so much mercy on me. Comfort, guidance, and love which I believe is always there for the child of God who believes.

It is difficult to realize that sometimes it is God's will that you go through sickness or trials, yet we are told that our faith is tested through those things - David realized that in the Psalm. Yes, I'm going through a trial now, but many insights and teachings are coming to me through this.

Our Father sometimes answers us with a "Yes, my child" - "No, wait on me" or "let's do this my way." Whatever He has for us I think of the verse in my signature: It's for my good. This is spiritually discerned and always true.

How dare you have that verse in your signature?

(Good verse.)
