EmilyNats is not a whiner. And, I think she's too young to be a "winer"....

But, since she's very mature for her age, we'll let it slide.

welcome to Backsliders Anonymous, Em.... don't worry, beer is an acquired taste. Some folks never acquire it. My wife is one of those people.
"Backsliders Anonymous" LOL

Mom actually gave me some beer last night, after I complained about a stomach ache. All I can say is, I slept well last night.

Nats' thoughts:

"Dang. Didn't think that post through...

Should I lie about my age? Nah.

Abandon CC? Perhaps.

Wait!"

*Cracks open The Arkansas Code to find a loophole.

My mother said I started drinking at 18 months, finding half empty beers left over from the party the night before.

I have never been drunk, they don't let me have enough alcohol to get that done. I do not understand why someone would want to drink enough beer to get drunk, though. It is not a pleasant taste at all.

Don't ever find out, Em...

It's sort of a domino effect. The more beers you drink, the better it starts tasting....

Doesn't taste nearly as good coming back up later.....

Jesus was right... do everything in moderation.

Alcohol poisoning is one of the top ten worst feelings on earth.

I got drunk once when I was 15. My dad mixed together some orange juice and pure grain alcohol and I drank so much I couldn't walk straight, talk straight, or think straight. I thought to myself, "Gee, this is boring," and haven't bothered with getting drunk since.

Every drink kills brain cells. I like my brain cells. Why would I want to kill them off?

I have killed off brain cells in the past by drinking different flavors of alcohol, but now I would rather spend money on good fruit juice.

'Bout a-week-and-a-half until tequila season kicks off.
I'm thinking Hornitos Reposado Margaritas for Taco de Mayo.

We're going down to Cabo san Lucas in a couple of days. I plan to find some good 100 percent agave TQ while I'm there, to bring back. Just for "in case"....

I hear you.

These days I'm almost exclusively a social drinker. Don't need all those carbs in my life.

If God doesn't want me to sin, should I joke/brag/mock about it?

How long could I do it until I find myself on the other side of the line?

How will I keep myself from sliding back if I don't watch?

YOU would go straight to H-E- double hockey pucks. We, on the other hand, know just when to quit, so we don't get in trouble.

So this will be my first time commenting on this thread. I don't drink and don't smoke, call me boring whatever. I do enjoy horror movies quite a lot no matter how bad people perceive them to be. I do love metal and hard rock so I'm cool

You, also, will go to H-E- double hockey pucks for watching horror movies. Turn them off before the eblnd, so I won't.

I think you missed the "disclaimers".... nobody here is advocating sin. This was simply a tongue in cheek thread that acknowledges that we ALL have some kind of baggage in our lives, and we freely admit that we are all still a "work in progress".

Also, if you couldn't tell, I think that most people on this thread are believers in what scripture tells us, that moderation is the key. It doesn't say "don't drink".... it says, "don't get drunk". It doesn't say "don't ever go to a party", it says "don't be involved in drunken revelry".

I think Jesus expected us to live life... have fun, and tell others about our reason for being happy and having fun.... we have a savior! Our death here on earth is not the end! It's the beginning...

Praise God for that!

This is where mature brothers and sisters in Christ come in. Sometimes we don't recognize we have crossed the line. We need them to help us stay focused on and following Christ Jesus.
