I love Cinco de Taco.
My wife made three different kinds of tacos and I had leftovers for breakfast.
Ended up getting Lunazul Blanco for the Margaritas since it was on sale.
Blanco/plata tequila is un-aged and has the strongest agave flavor.
Mixed it with Tres Agaves margarita mix and fresh oranges and limes.
Fiesta grande!

  • Potato chips (the body is a temple)
  • Mayo (body-temple)

Those are my preferences, although I've had other alcohols. Ultimately, alcohol is my main vice. In the future, I want to steer clear of these vices because I know they aren't good for me, they are a sin (some more than others), and I just flat-out want to be healthy. On a positive note, I am interested in medical marijuana ─ not necessarily for the high ─ but because I do need it as some form of medicine for my P.T.S.D and co-morbid disorders.

In the end, I'm hoping to better myself in Christ, in mind, body, and in spirit. This is a nice thread, though. :)

Oh, and Cinco de Mayo is incredible. Nothing beats good Mexican food with tequila. The combo is thee most delicious I ever had. Better tasting than Italian food and wine, which I have had a real love for most my life. Mexican food with tequila takes the cake, though. *happy sigh* Chips, guac and tequila are all my faves this time of month.

As I sit here dipping chips into a big bowl of homemade guacamole that I just threw together. I found avocados for 25 centavos each at the WalMart neighborhood market around the corner. Couldn't pass them up. I had to let them age on the counter for a couple of days, but they were ready this afternoon... good stuff.

I managed to buy a bottle of Don Juan anejo, and a bottle of Patron anejo before we left Cabo to come home. Good prices on each of them..the DJ was $26, and the Patron was $33. I still had most of a bottle of Cofradia from our last Cancun trip, several years ago.... so I imagine I'm well stocked with TQ now.

In honor of cinco de mayo, I had a margarita last evening... a couple of fresh limes, TQ, a little mixer, and Grand Marnier. Salt on the rim.... not bad at all. Probably could have used a dash of Triple Sec, but I left it out.

We had homemade chicken quesadillas... a good evening.

I guess I'll have to turn in my backsliders card, since I don't smoke or drink any more. Oh wait! I eat too much junk food sometimes! That counts, right?

You really know how to live and enjoy life. I don't drink anymore and never had a margarita. My favorite drink was gin & tonic with a lime twist over ice. Love Mexican food too and after reading your post I may head south of the border tomorrow and score some tacos at the Taco Bell down the road. My wife makes excellent chicken quesadillas.

It's funny... I never had a margarita until I was in my 40's. I wasn't really a "mixed drink" kind of person. I liked beer, mostly... occasionally a bourbon and coke or Amaretto Sour. I was in Austin for an equipment training course, and the place I was staying had a complimentary happy hour every afternoon. I was convinced to try a margarita, and realized "so THAT'S what everyone has been ranting about!" Good stuff.

Of course, tastes change, and I still like a good amber/bock beer, and some lagers, but I tend more toward whiskies... whether from Scotland, Ireland, Tennessee, Canada, Kentucky, Colorado, Texas...

but I still like margaritas... strictly top-shelf, though.

On the rare occasions I do hard alcohol, it's a whiskey or rum.

Glenfiddich is my fav.

And on that note, I never had a German beer until about 8 years ago. There is nothing like it. I'm so spoiled now, nothing but the best pass my lips. I'm a beer snob.
Every tried Belgium beer?

My wife and I went to Belgium for our second wedding anniversary.

We walked round the streets of Ghent.

We stopped at a cafe. I had a beer.
We walked further and stopped at another cafe, I had a beer.
Did the same again.

But when I went to stand up my legs did not want to comply.

As we say over here I was as p****d as a fart.

I didn't realise how strong it was.
The beer was really smooth and just tasted so so nice and smooth.

I then had the pleasure of eating their wonderful chips smothered in mayonnaise and then washed down with?

Yes you guessed it.

Ooh I love a sour mash whiskey.

I am from Scotland.
My wife likes Glenfiddich, as did my late Father in Law.

On a Friday night me and him would sit outside with a bottle and smoke a nice King Edwards cigar.

I do miss that

Seriously, I really do have a problem with either procrastination or laziness. I have severe ADHD and find it difficult to do things on time or when they need to be done.

I invite suggestions from those who don't struggle with it as I do.

Only Belgian beer I've ever had is Chimay Blue.
That's some intense beer!
Those monks know what they're doing.

I don't think I've ever tried Glenfiddich.. I've tried Glenlivet, Glenmorangie, Lagavullin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg, and probably a couple of others I can't remember.

My taste seems to lean toward the Speysides, so Glenfiddich has just gone on the list as "must try"....

We are getting together this coming Thursday night with my brothers and sister for a meal to celebrate our parents, and the legacy they left us. My younger brother said he had picked up a "really special" whisky in the duty free shop at Heathrow... can't wait to see what it is. My older brother doesn't drink at all, and my sister does just a little bit. I'm bringing cigars and a dessert. Prime steaks grilled out, with baked potatoes and a salad.... good company, with our lawyer, who happens to be almost a member of the family.. our families have been friends since before we were born...

Should be a night to remember.

There is something about McDonalds. I know it's terrible, I complain about it all the time but I always crave their McNuggets. I don't pray as much as I should so I have to work at that. I believe breaking the law is a sin but like MLK an unjust law isn't a law at all. Therefore breaking an unjust law shouldn't be considered a sin right? Anyway many times I've sneaked into the back of the city bus without paying.

I don't only listen to Christian music.
