Growing up most of us have had at least one teacher who made an impact us did you ever have one? I will start ahem... When i first began school because of my abusive parents I had not been to any kind of school at the age of eight and was also very very small for my age due to being underfed, so what they did was they placed in directly in first grade in Mrs. Riverra's class, she was told of my past why I was the way I was and so every day she let me sit in her lap and eat snacks to help my body kind of catch up. She was like big warm pillow to me and it was also when I was with her that I drew my very first picture- a teddy bear. Apparently even back then I had a knack for drawing and she flipped out over it and hung it next to her desk. I had not known any kind of affection before her in my life so she was a very important person to me, I only hope that one day when I see her in heaven I will have been the sweet and precious child she always called me and that I make her proud with the love that I spread to other in life.

Some teachers never know the depth of the impact they make on their students

That's horrible, Demi. :( Here in the states that stamp on the forehead would have qualified as assault and she could have been sentenced for it.

After that she kept getting reported because she always insulted the whole class and after her doing that to me it didnt take long and she got fired

NOOOOO
They taught me lies upon lies and now i realize that the whole system is just a big fat lie.
They told me:

-2 x -2=4
And 2 x 2=4

And they also told me light travels very fast- faster than any other thing.

It's interesting that I'd see this thread today, given that it's been a month now since I found out that my biology teacher from high school passed away. The one whom I posted about in the Prayer Requests forum.

I can't name one specific thing she did that impacted me, but it was her overall demeanor toward and interaction with me that made a huge impression.

Sometimes that is the greatest thing any teacher can do. Anyone can teach and can have students under their wings but it's the teachers who in their teaching their students are able to make an impact in the students lives that are the greatest teachers. Teachers such as that plant something in inside the students that they will in turn one day plant inside others and pass along their teachers influence. It isn't enough to have the knowledge and know how to be able to be a teacher you have to be able to have a passion for it and have the ability to impact the hearts and lives of those you are teaching.

Of course few teachers in the bdf fail to understand this :/

Wow.... she sounds like a very bitter and hateful person and someone who needs to know the peace and love of God, she likely acted like this because of her own life and how she saw herself

I was very fond of two of my teachers... My kindergarten teacher, Ms. Illfelder, who I later learned died from breast cancer. She was only in her 20's :( she was so kind and pretty. The other was my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. McGonical. I pretty much had a crush on her...

Yes, I had a few very good teachers. My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Fancher, my third grade teacher, Mrs. Hester, two of my fourth grade teachers, Mrs. McCool and Mr. Civitelli, my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Sherlock, and my elementary school librarian, Mr. Moore were all excellent teachers. In secondary school, Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Sims, Mrs. Cox, Ms. Taylor, Mrs. McGuff, Mrs. Hicks, Mrs. May, Mrs. Robicheaux, Mrs. Rogers.

I could take a while to say why each one was special. Mr. Moore introduced us to classical music and told us about Beethoven. That is just one ray of light from my school days. I think of things I learned as rays of light shining into the darkness of ignorance. Just like little pin points of light.

oh yes, Mrs. Fresh -

tall, matronly, dressed in black, heels that clicked on the wooden floors and could be heard
coming a mile away -
best of all, a random ear and head-lice checker...
she terrified us...

You are so right. I am a retired teacher/administrator and I love hearing from students. I hope you will share your positive thoughts with the teacher...if you can.

My HS English teacher made an impact on me. She helped me to visualize what I was reading and writing. I remember a class assignment where we had to write how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We laughed all week as she picked some of our papers and proceeded to make the sandwich according to the directions on our assignment! I can still remember that and I graduated in 1980! Yikes!!!

It’s fantastic when teachers can make an impact on you. My teacher inspired me to go teach others.
