When were you first filled with the holy spirit, did you feel like electricity was coming through your body? or Did you feel something else? How did you know that you were filled?

Just wanted to know your experience :)

I suppose you could call it an electric feeling, really it was more like his power and life was surging through me, I will never forget that feeling of his life flowing through me, it wasn't like anything you could experience here on earth it wasn't energy or feeling good it was something on an entirely different level there really are no words to be able to describe it. But whenever i remember that feeling of life in me I crave it again.

Of course mine also was like a blazing fire it was strange but in a good way like his power and life was both as a blazing fire inside me and all around me yet it's as if it was also surging through my very being.

My baptism of the Holy Spirit was Biblical.
I experienced the same as I read in my NT

I burst out speaking in a new tongue by the Spirit and
I also enjoyed a powerful revelation that both Jesus and
the Bible are true.
I understood in that moment that Jesus is my Lord and my God
and that he really did die at Calvary and rose again for me.

It was awesome
And Jesus gave me a testimony that these signs shall indeed
follow them that believe ...

Mine was biblical. Jesus baptized me with the Holy Spirit. To be filled with the Spirit, I do what the Bible says, in the only place it actually says anything about this: Ephesians 5:17-21.

My first recollection of a prayer answered came when I was 4 or 5 , after that I knew He was there with and for me.
When I supposedly received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit those who were praying all received the word that I already had it, I just wasn't using it. That may be true for many, you already have everything He died to bring you, you just aren't walking in it.
Receiving the infilling isn't the end goal, it is a beginning in walking with Him that will continue for eternity.

I realized that as soon as God started conversing with me, I already had the infilling of the Holy Spirit. God then promised me He would give me the gift of tongues because I asked for it. It was quite a journey, but I really learned some things about God and the way people worship Him. I shared my baptism in the testimonies forum which I got a vision of the feeling of death, so cold.

Most people lie but they don't even know they lie.

My experience is that looking back a year or so, i realize i have changed.

I didn't think of it as the act of the indwelling, I thought of it as my life being surrendered to God at a particular time, followed by my baptism of intentional purposes. I figured it was God's job to stick it down in the inner most place of my soul, shoot I was 11 years old how was I going to stick anything inside me from outside in? It had to be God, who thru the death and life of Jesus, brought it to me and placed it there by His acts of sacrifice and Gods act of grace., thus, I was just filled when I surrendered - period.

The love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Ghost which was given unto us (Romans 5:5).

If any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of us (Romans 8:9).

Basically we are either in Christ or we are not. God does not give His gifts at random, nor dispense them in any arbitrary fashion. They are given freely to all, but they are given on a definite basis. God has truly “blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3), but if those blessings which are ours in Christ are to become ours in experience, we must know on what ground we can appropriate them.

In considering the gift of the Holy Spirit it is helpful to think of this in two aspects, as the Spirit outpoured and the Spirit indwelling. Faith is living by the guise of the Holy Spirit in things already accomplished in Christ which we set out to conquer God's purposes and intentions thru Him in our life as well, as we live like Christ lived. Thank you for letting me share in here.

Hello JB2018,

Jesus Christ became my Savior at age 6, when I truly with all my heart received Him and all He did for me. But, at age 25, I was told to press in and ask for the Holy Spirit just like Acts 2. So, I did. WOW!!!

It's as if at age 6, I got a brand new all equipped cell phone and actually got it ACTIVATED at age 25. However, it does need recharging often!!! LOL! :D

Makes me wonder what He has planned for the rest of eternity?

He has plans to prosper you and fill your wonder with His Joy and Wisdom....The Presence of Himself then, therefore, will be Eternity as His will will be done on earth as it is in heaven. As we experience the fullness of Christ Jesus Eternity is upon us even now..we need not even think of a time continuum then. God, indeed, only does good and only offers us His Best and never our "good-enough's." We are either in Christ led by His Spirit or we are not.

yes, so true, and worth rejoicing over. We often think in terms of good or evil, right or wrong, I think G-d always has His best in mind for us, so it isn't merely one way or the other, it is more like His best plan for us will always exceed what we want can imagine.

Indwelling means to be permanently present. He is truly with us. :)

No not an "electric feeling" that was in Hack Gu games, more of a "super charged feeling" seriously after giving my life to God/Jesus I felt "ready for action" and like that I could "run without stopping" to wherever!
