Back in the 90s a group of us co-workers were talking and I said to one something about his gray hair. He was shocked. He thought he had brown hair. He was so shocked he ran to the bathroom to find out what color hair he had. Yup. It was gray.

I was wondering, "How do you not notice your hair changed colors?"

Hubby's hair went from brown to white back to front. The first to go gray was the front. By the time the back of his head started turning gray, the front was white, and the middle was gray. So, I was the one who let him know how his hair was doing.

Last week, I had to send in paperwork to renew my driver's licence. They always want to know if any of the info changed. I admit I'm not quite ready to mention I've shrunk an inch and a half, but I did ask hubby what color my hair is. He said "Brown." Works for me, so I kept the info the same.

And then the next day we went on an outing, both with cameras, and I learned the truth.

April 12th, the day my hair went from brown to white!

All these pictures were taken within 20 minutes.

This first one? Yeah, mostly brown with gray on the side, right?

So who is this chick? The one with all the gray? (And, now you know what I do to take so many pictures of my stuffed animals. lol)

And, more frightening. A back of the head shot!

No wonder the hair on the trap in the tub is gray. I thought I was losing hair only on the sides. lol

When did I go from brown hair to white?

April 12th. Obviously. lol

Has your hair changed yet?

I started getting grey hair from my early 20s. Just a few strands hair and there!

By my early 30s I started to get a noticeable steak of grey hair across the front.
It wouldnt have been so bad if it was nicely blended in, but it wasn’t, it was a proper
thick steak which made me look like Cruel-Lea-de-vil.

If it had been later in life I could have said it looked like rogue from the X-men lol.
Something like this! I had long dark hair too.

So I started using those temp hair dyes, at first going my own natural colour.

Then bit by bit I went for the permenant hair dyes, first dark brown my own
colour, then I realised I might as well have some fun. So I tried various shades of red.

The purple colour was a complete accident, it was suppose to be red but during
the process it turned this deep shade of purple. The hairdresser nearly had
a fainting attack thinking she had made a big mistake but she used the same
dye as last time. At that time I had an over active thyroid so was very hot and
we did wonder if the increase in both temperature had caused the hair dye to
develope too quickly.

Anyway I loved the colour so much I’ve stuck with it!

Funny thing is that recently I’ve added a blond streak at the front so
I’m almost back to the Cruel-Lea-de-vil look again!

So with me it was a shock but a shock that opened up
interesting possibilities!

This is my new make up look by the way. Now I’m nearly 50 I
thought I would see what lipstick is all about. Lol

A girl just has to do these things sometimes.

Oh I see the teddies haven’t gone grey yet. Lol
Grey or not you still have a youthful twinkle in your eye. :)

I like to see old people with that really snowy white look. When they are completely white.
It looks really nice.

That's a good shade of purple, Miri..... at least it didn't come out "Day-glo" purple.

My hair is more, um... flesh colored now. It used to be dark brown... matched my eyes. What little hair I have left is mostly gray, with brown flecks in it.

Lynn, gray looks good on you.

This is me, a couple of months ago.

Oh you still have a dark moustache though and eye brows.
So not altogether flesh coloured. Lol

Just think though of all the money you save on hair cuts!

I think it suits men when they go bald, but there again I always
had a thing for bald men, their smile goes right up. Ha ha

Am I the only one who thinks selfies look strange by the way. They come out
back to front don’t they.

My hair is about 50/50 right now, evenly dispersed all over. But I got a buzz cut just today, so it's hard to see what color my hair is right now.

I get a buzz cut about five times a year. One would think those who know me would be used to it by now. But noooooo, Grandma still made multiple comments about it, and I'll get a lot of flak at church tonight. Maybe I should start commenting about the bags under people's eyes, or how long their noses are, or the size of their ears.

Just tell them you washed your hair, and it shrunk....

Well like when you look in a mirror you never see a true
reflection of yourself as your left side appears as your right side and so on.

But when you take selfies on your phone it puts your face the right way around
like a passport photo. So for example I look in a mirror and see the blond bit of
hair as if it’s on the right side. But on selfies it comes out as if it is on the
left side, as in the way other people see you, rather than a mirror image.

It just looks strange as we never see ourselves as we really are, just a mirror
image.

I think we refer to that as a number one, or shaved. Lol

Yes... I understand the #1 reference. I did that a year or so ago, had the barber person use the #1 setting on the clippers. It's the shortest my hair has probably ever been. Even as a kid, I didn't go that short.... I used to get a flat-top haircut...

Good old "butch-wax"...... smh

I had this job several years ago that was very emotionally stressful for me (due to my coworkers) and I started to see my hair turning grey before my eyes every time I looked in the mirror. It was coming in along the sides and front but it was subtle. I knew it was because of the stress I was under...

Well believe it or not (and I'm guessing most of you won't).. Since I've stopped working there my gray hair has disappeared. I don't know when or how long it took because shortly after I stopped working there I had to become a caregiver to my father and my life was stressful again but in a much more manageable way.. But the gray is all gone..

A bit annoying the one who is almost 50 looks almost 35. lol

And, I'm seeing red in the back, not purple. Always pictured you with Barney-the-dinosaur purple hair.

Me too, but our definitions of "old" are distinctively different. (Old is always 15 years older than I am, so it changes year by year. lol)

You need to change your avatar. The one you use now looks very serious, learned, and determined. The more recent photo has all that, but a twinkle in your eyes too that says, "I'm not always so serious."

And, honestly, the only thing I hoped the Lord wouldn't do to me until I hit 65 was give me little hair. For some reason, little-hair works well for most guys, but rarely works well for woman.

I have a theory that men don't go bald. It's gravity. The same amount of hair always, but the hair wanders off their crown into their eyebrows, ears, chin, then neck, chest, and back. lol

Oddly enough, it doesn't cut back on haircuts though, because if haircuts are ignored it becomes a distinctly strange look, called "the comb-over." lol

I still don't know how to do a selfie. I have one, but it's with John, because I don't know how to do one, so he did one for us. lol
