Matt 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

The treasure in Matt 13:44 is God's Grace, Forgiveness, Salvation, Eternal Life. These things are unaffordable/priceless. No amount of money can buy these. Neither could a billion years of our perfect self-righteous works.

The man in the story is Christ. He gave everything he had. And be doing so, he bought the field (US). Hebrews 12:2 & Philippians 2:6-11.

Christ purchased the field with the treasure (God's Grace, Forgiveness, Salvation, Eternal Life), now offer's it freely (To US).

Acts 20:21 (A) Testifying both to the Jews, (B) and also to the Greeks, (C) repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

(NOTE: The key's here are found in the artical "toward". For the Jew that knew God & had broke covenant (Jer 31:32) to repent (change thier mind & return to him). For the gentile that never knew or acknowledged God, they were to repent (to change thier mind/turn to & acknowledge God). And for both Jew & Gentile: to place thier faith/trust in the redemptive sin atoning sacrifice of Jesus, God's promised Christ)

When we acknowledge God, confess our transgressions against him & place our faith in Christ's payment (HE BOUGHT THE FIELD). Found in his death (sins wage, paid in full) burial & resurrection (God's receipt, payment received & accepted) We freely receive the treasure: God's Grace, Forgiveness, Salvation & Eternal Life.
