I would include in this any Bible College, Seminary, or other ORGANIZED educational system. Sunday school and self-study do not count for this thread. Please share if you will the reason for your attendance.

I myself have spent 3 years in Bible college, mostly for my own knowledge.

The closest that I came is to take an 8 week course on Revelation.

I attended a Christian school from kindergarten through the first year of college. Don't know if that counts, or not...

I had 9 years of Catechism but I'm pretty sure that doesn't count either with a lot of the members here.

The member with the most professional training in bible study has to be Angela. She has years and years of formal training and practical application as an instructor and preacher as well. She has the most impressive credentials that I have seen. There are a few others too but in my opinion she has the most training in a formal spiritual education setting.

I was thinking along the lines of accredited-level instruction. Angela has indeed invested a lot in that!

You haven't done too shabby in this regard also sir. Three years is quite an investment of time.

Yes, I've received some formal Bible education. It was required by my school for GenEd.

When I was baptised with the Holy Spirit and spoke forth in a
new tongue, the Spirit of truth also went on to teach me directly
the scriptures and reveal directly to me the gospel and how to
live it .

Also in the truly Spirit-filled church several gifts distributed to
us for the benefit of the body of Christ are:
> wisdom
> knowledge
> discerning of spirits
> prophesying

Does 13 years of Lutheran school plus a lifetime of Sunday school, vacation Bible school, Bible camp, family devotions, and church picnics count?

(Probably not. But I thought I would try. :p)

Nothing. No cemetery, I mean seminary. No correspondence courses, zilch, nada.

I can't even claim self-taught since God's grace has been sufficient for EVERYTHING.

It was actually 2 years worth of courses, taken over 3. Again it was for my own understanding and experience. And well worth it.

But what I have done wasn't the point of the thread. More just seeing experience levels and reasonings for seeking it out. Maybe encourage some others to go :)

Which is true and not to be forgotten - that which we seek and learn must always be confirmed by the Holy Spirit, not some guy at a lectern/podium/altar. Learning is good for advice and consult, but the day the professor becomes more authoritative than Jesus is the day it all goes horribly wrong. The Spirit gives wisdom and knowledge, schooling is but one conduit.

If at any point you put a piece of paper on the fridge with a magnet saying you had passed, you're good! :)

Cemetery - seminary ... the best jokes always have a hint of truth to them don't they ;)?
