Hi - I would love to get some advice please.

I am petrified of frogs, yet I find them to be so intriguing. I have ceramic frogs all over my house. Even in my bedroom.

Do they represent evil? Are they wrong to have?

This sounds like a religious thing.....i rather not mess with that even if it was not evil. We should not get caught up in religion but relationship so about the frogs friend i do not know but i would stay away.

YES SevnDust - I just posted that. Problems???? If you cannot add value to a simple question, look for a website on sarcasm and arrogance and you will fit right in.

Hi Sevndust

I have read the Bible a few times, I have yet to see where frogs are evil. I looked up the references and they are only mentioned twice. Both times no one calls them evil. Only Satan and his cohorts are evil. If it really disturbs you, do your own study. Fear is not of God. When it comes to evil and good, you should ask God to be your teacher and you the student. You want God's wisdom, when no one else is around, reading His Word will give you the answers. I hope this helps.

Shalom

I agree! Frogs are not evil in and of themselves. And God does not place a spirit of fear within us. The Bible contains well over 100 places where God said "have no fear" or "do not be afraid" or "fear not".

But, idol worship is evil. I think you need to determine just what place these frogs have in your life. If they are merely cute trinkets that you keep around for the fun of it, you are doing nothing wrong (in my opinion). However, if they have attained the status of prized possessions, or more, then perhaps you need to examine whether they have attained the status of idols.

God bless you in your deliberations.

I am confused here a little bit, so maybe if I ask a couple things it can clear it up for me.

Ok, first thing.....if you do not like terrified of frogs then why do you have a collection of them. For example, I do not like pink...you will not see me wearing pink, decorating my home in pink etc. I just do not care for it for myself....so if you do not like something, (like you are scared of frogs) then why do you collect them??

Second, I do not see anything wrong with collecting frogs. Although I already stated my confusion above, if you like your frogs, why are you thinking you have to get rid of them or that it would be wrong to collect them?

i dont think I need to justify why I like them - I JUST DO!!!! My point was to find out if they represented evil. Nothing more to it than that.

In my country frogs are used for evil. They are often seen with their mouths tied (especially in courtrooms). A pastor visited my house for a prayer meeting and noticed the ceramic frogs and told me to get rid of them, they represent evil.

So just to be safe I'll de-frog the house.

I used to occasionally see toads back where I was raised in Iowa. My family’s pet, a German shepherd-collie, was intrigued by them.

There was no reason for you to get upset with me...clarification is a good thing if one does not understand something. I felt it was better I ask you than to assume.

As a christian, anything remotely resembling idol worship has no bearing on you. If your country views frogs as evil...that is just silly for it to impact you as a christian.

BUT...if you want to *de-frog* your house, *just to be safe*...then go for it. I have no need for such safety nets because I have Jesus.

Blessings

Friends,

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12-14 - emphasis added)
