Does anyone have any good remedies for colds? I almost constantly have one and am kindof tired of being sick.. Any suggestions as to what I can to do get rid of my cold, and prevent it from returning? I dress warmly when going outside (it's always cold here in the winter), and take a lot of Vitamin C to boost my immune system, but so far, everything I have tried hasn't helped.. Any ideas?

Stay comfortably warm, get plenty to eat, get plenty of rest.

Lol, I know, but unfortunately patience isn't one of my virtues.. And i've been sick for pretty much the entire winter. I wish there was a remedy that would get rid of it permanently within a few days..

Maybe you are pushing yourself too hard so your body can’t recover.

Drink orange juice and tea with honey. It works. Trust me. Also sleep a lot and while that might get boring, DO NOT WATCH TV! Or anything like that. Even being on the computer is boarder line dangerous. Just lay there and get better haha

I am amazed none of you mentioned Jesus Christ. Jesus did not die for anything. His blood is enough to heal something as little as a cold, In fact his blood can keep us from ever getting sick. He is the remedy for all sickness, even death.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I prayed about it, and even tried the orange juice and honey. It tasted pretty good and helped with my cough for a while, but unfortunately, I still have my stubborn cough and cold. I have been trying to rest even more, but that doesn't always work out :p! I guess I'm just going to have to keep trying to get rid of it the way I have been, and pray more about it. Thanks!

Cold and cough, you say? Wery easy think. And temperaturei s normal? Well, you can do many things.
For first, you can dring tea with honey and lemon... But, let the tea to cool slightly before you pour the lemon juice and honey there, because othewise you demage all the vitamins.
Or you can make so called "hot lemonade" - It is again honey and lemon juice together with the lemon pulp and hot (not boiling) water (some people in my country even put there some plum brandy but this is not for children, mothers and most of Christians :) .
Other possibility is onion sirup - this is against cough - take larger onion, cut down the tips and hollow it out, than put about a teaspoon of sugar inside the onion and place it to a pan with a little bit of water and boil slightly. You will get the sirup. Dont be affraid, it is nicely sweet :)
For cold you can exhale eukalyptus oil or chamomile, but remember, that cold is viral and it usually takes about 1 week no matter how you remedy it or not.

At my house, we make what sounds like your 'hot lemonade' except we add a touch of whiskey and a little chamomile. It works with my cough and chills, but always makes me sleepy. This side-effect prevents me from drinking it except at night. I'll have to try your onion syrup and eukalyptus.. Thanks!

I used this before, buys some Ginger root and cut it up into slices and put it in some water and warm it up. This is some strong stuff (not like cough meds YUCK!). Actaully like Ginger root for my tea at times. use to put Ginger root in my tea which would make it a herbal tea....you can try that too. I WOULD ADD SUGAR IF YOU WERE ME....OR SOMETHING SWEET

here is what Ginger root looks like

Sure, it is the alcohol, what makes you sleepy. Whiskey probably has to have the same effect like the plum brandy. If you use it without whiskey, you wont be so sleepy ;).

Ginger is also good.

Thanks for the advice Crazy4GODword. However, I have had ginger a few times and greatly dislike it. It'll probably get rid of my cold, but give me a stomach ache instead. :p Thanks though!

Yeah, I thought about that after I wrote that post and tried it yesterday without the whiskey. It didn't make me sleepy and worked for a while.. :D
