I love Dr. Who! I liked the 10th doctor best, and I cried and cried when he died. I just moved to a new area and won't be able to watch the new season, and I'm totally bummed, enjoy it for me!

I'm Australian, so we have been watching it since it started.

In the 70s, early 80s where I lived had only 2 tv channels. One of them showed Doctor who every day.

The first Doctors I liked where Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker as a kid :)

Anyone remember "Bessie" ? the Doctor's car?

YAY!!!!! Hardcore Who fan here.

*bonding*

Also, David, how were you watching Dr Who episodes that you remember in the 70s? You're 35. lol

Pretty much every episode ever is on Netflix now, so I went back to try and watch those old ones. I'm not ashamed to say I had a hard time getting into it. It's so disgustingly British! lol

I remember seeing episodes here and there when I was a kid (like 6th and 7th doctors), but I didn't get into it on my own until the Chris Eccleston season. Been seriously hooked ever since.

No, they just put Dr Who in America... and put Nixon in it.

*sigh*

Anyway, agreed on Being Human. I still don't understand what the point was there. Was there something difficult to understand about the British one? They did the same thing with Skins, I hear. I hate teenagers so I haven't seen it. lol

Well if you ever suffer from insomnia, old Dr Who is more effective than Ambien and doesn't result in sleep crime.

I was born at the start of 76. I was into Doctor Who when I was 2-3 years old. I suspect it was K9 that drew me in and Tom baker's Jelly beans.

But I do have memories of the 70s. I remember being a KISS fan, and watching YMCA on the neighbours tv. Village People were very popular, and with songs that kids can dance too!

I remember my brother being born in 1980 etc.

Doctor Who will jump the shark where he has a female incarnation.

I can just see this coming.

I used to love the old Dr who show that was the highlight of my week. the New Dr. Who is nothing like the original in any way.

What really turned me off from the new show was an episode where the people are gathered in a church seeking refuge from gargoyals and cowering saying "the Doctor will save us!!" not even a mention of God.

I won't watch the New Dr. Who, I still watch re-runs of the old Dr. Who Show.

Yeah, they're really big on not mentioning anything about God in the newer shows

They didn't talk about God in the old shows either, but the Doctor wasn't portrayed as better than God as in the new show.
