"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." - The First Amendment

They were meant to stay out of each other. The framers of the constitution elaborated on this quite a bit, Jefferson simply explained with the term "separation of church and state" what the constitution already said in a catchy and easy to understand way.
Haha. Sounds like the Constitution was shaped by Satan more than by Jefferson. Go figure

Anyhow, first they say it is wrong to kill, yet they say people have a right to bear arms. Hmm. Neither Jefferson nor Bill can determine my rights, since they did not give me life. If that is the case that government is good, then what about the government under Hitler? Under Saddam? Seems morality has double standards.

Hey man. You said it!! People are evil and yet you honor them? Hmm. Can't have peace, must assemble armies.

You think that morality trumps human nature? If you can prove it, more power to you. Humans are animals. Don't elevate yourself above humanity thinking that you have the answer to everything by pulling some passage from a book that only about 40% of humanity even knows about.

Yep, anything that doesn't want the Church to dominate a person's everyday life is clearly Satan-infested.

SELF-DEFENSE. Are you saying people aren't allowed to have it? That's what the right to bear arms is for.

Oh, so you don't have to listen to Jefferson nor Bill? Fine, go break whatever law you want. Have fun, and send me a postcard from prison. LAWS EXIST FOR A REASON. Don't go thinking otherwise.

Hitler, Saddam, and other people are mass murderers. We've overcome them, but more will rise. We have to stand together as a NATION to overcome them.

Sorry but I don't go for morality. Morality is changing ideals of what silly people believe is right and wrong, thus proving they have no idea what is right and wrong.

HAHA. Humans are animals? HAHA. I tell you one thing, without the Lord they are very much like them. VERY MUCH!! Like wild untamed beasts. Now don't tell me you think you are a good person too!

So you think you're better than me? Condescending little brat, aren't you? Don't be conceited. Jesus tells us to be humble. Have you ever had humility in your life?

HUMANS = ANIMALS. In what way are we different? The only thing that separates us are a few more IQ points, and some creativity.

I am a good person. I love the Lord my God with all my heart, but I also like things to be FAIR for all HUMANS, because neither you nor I have any right to tell them what to believe and force them to believe it against their will.

I will tell you a law I have no reserve in disobeying. If a man or any woman, whether president or high official say that I cannot pray wherever I like, I will gladly disobey without reserve.

Now don't go tell me that they are for freedom of religion. That is mess. They are okay with anything that is tamed by their laws. But God is not tamed by their laws, nor any laws of man. If you think people are a terror, wait until you see the terror of the Lord God.

Freedom of religion. They can't stop you from praying. NOR CAN THEY STOP AN ISLAMIC FROM GOING TO A MOSQUE. And neither can you.

Oh wow, now you want to throw humility at me yet you are not humble before the Lord? Double standards I tell you.

You esteem humans too high. But God has esteemed men in that he made them a little lower than angels, and has given them authority over the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air and fishes of the sea. This is how we are different than animals. But as I said not much between an animal and a human who doesn't fear God.

So, you are a good person now huh? Lets dig deep then. Let's see something. Lets put your thoughts an a megaphone. Go ahead, put your thoughts you have in the dark on a megaphone, and see how well accepted you would be with people. I bet you'd be like that woman the Pharisees caught in adultery.

Now this brings us to mercy.

May Jesus bless you.

I suppose you think you are good then? Tell me how you are good.
Trying to judge my own goodness is more or less of a trap. All I can safely say is that I always make an effort to cause no one harm, which is most of the basis for my entire morality. Furthermore, I'm not sure how this question is at all relevant?

You think the Constitution sounds like it was shaped by Satan? So you think that granting very many human rights, some of them revolutionary at the time, and establishing a government made to protect the freedoms of and liberties, and promote peace in its own nation and worldwide sounds like Satan? If that's the case, then I can't really take issue with this Satan guy.

And there's no double standard in thinking the US Constitution was good, and then thinking that the dictatorships of Hitler and Saddam's regimes were bad. You're drawing something that isn't there. The US sought to protect every individual and grant them rights giving them freedom and peace, and those two regimes were about selfishness and power, and they killed and oppressed their own people for it. Don't compare, it doesn't line up. Hitler and Saddam were DISGUSTING violators of human rights.

Oh... And :

I can't say I disagree with you on much, but here I do. Humans are actually pretty wonderful when we get past the barbaric ideas that cause us to resort to violence and hatred. Many places in the civilized first world filled with educated people are excellent, and we're working on bringing the lesser areas of the world up with us. Soon they will outgrow violence as we (mostly) have, I cannot wait for this day, not that I'll live to see it. We are not animals. Well technically/scientifically we are lol, but not in the sense that we're horrible morally.

And with that, I'm off to bed, I'll check up on this weird thread later!

I say the same things... right back at you. You claim to be better than me, so prove it. No human is without sin. I am humble before the Lord, but you are not the Lord. You are assuming you know me, despite the fact that the only reason we argue is because you're too narrowminded to think about the feelings of other people in the case of government.

Do you actually have any sense of equality in your heart? You act as though you're superior to her, so I say, prove it. The three of us are Christians, yet you treat us as though we're inferior.

Human are not inferior to me, but certainly to God. But yet some say, NO GOD!

This lady is not inferior to me. In fact, I know she has more things to work out in the Lord, so I do pray for her. She knows, we have talked. In fact, I think she is well equipped to be a might lady for the Lord. However, there is something the Lord has yet for her, as now she doesn't see it.

As for you....

May Jesus bless you.

Well, aren't you sweet. Just so you know, replacing the Constitution with the 10 Commandments is a fool's dream. I've wanted that to happen once, but when you've realized how the world actually works, dreams die. Through all things, Christ gives me strength, and now he's giving me the strength to point out the flaws of your ideals. The Lord's work is done through ministry, not forced conformity. The first 4 commandments, when applied to Government law, go against the teachings of the Church, and a man who goes into Christianity because the law forces him to, will always have part of their hearts detached, because they know for a fact they were forced to do something against their will. God does not want us to force people to be like us. We are all human, and it's time we acted like that. Humility leads to Empathy, which leads to Compassion, which leads to Fellowship, which leads to a foundation that allows even the most uncertain to turn their eyes to God. Tell me, how does making a law saying, "You shall have no other God" in any way, some form of Compassion? Consider the entire situation from an atheist's point of view. When you realize someone's trying to force you to believe something, you're not going to be easily influenced, are you? Think about how you are now. If you were this stubborn as a Christian, imagine how stubborn you'd be as an atheist. Do you really want to use peer pressure and legal charges to make them believe in a metaphysical force that we recognize as the Almighty?

Call me a fool and let me DREAM ON!!! Haha.

Hmm, so Jesus gives you the strength to point out the flaws in his own law? Hmm.

And by the way I was more stubborn than an atheist. In fact to me atheists were just another religion. A religion of anti God. I heard more silly things from Atheists than Christians.

But neither Atheists nor Christians taught me the truth. Jesus Christ teaches me the Truth. So, uh, try again?

If I followed the ideals of the people who call themselves Christians on this site alone, I would be so wrapped up in hell I doubt I could break free.

And if I was as foolish as an Atheist who says there is no God I would be just as silly.

However, you are right, legal charges can't make them believe in God. If that was the case then the Hypocrites would not have killed Jesus, am I right or am I right? Go figure.

I point out the flaws of applying religious documents to government articles. The two don't mix well. One nation under God though it may be, one nation of many cultures it remains.

Atheists simply don't believe in the spiritual side of the universe. Is that so ridiculous? They see a world of material objects. So, they live in such a world. You and I live on the spiritual side, but is what they see so out of line? If you had never been taught Christianity, you'd be no different, and I mean that purely out of heart. Had you never been told of Jesus Christ, you would be materialistic.

That's an astute claim. Please do not go making accusations that several people on this site aren't really Christians. They love God, and though they are all different, the love for God they share forms a powerful bond between them. They all have their own variety of sin-filled lives, but then, so do I, and so do you. The bond we are forming is powerful enough that we can look beyond the sin, have God wash away our sin, and come out as a Fellowship capable of seeing humanity's potential to be united through Christ of their own free will. We need to lead to that generation.

Atheists may be wrong, but remember, stupidity isn't always the result of being wrong. They have their own ideals, and they have their own means to be good people. No matter how many evil people you meet, there are always golden eggs that can offer you advice, no matter from what source. If you can learn to understand the beliefs of others, even though you don't let it influence you, simply being aware allows you to connect to them. Buddhism is wrong, but are the 8 steps of enlightenment useless because of it? No, we can still use them in order to learn how to be better people. You can even take the principles of Physics and allow it to strengthen your bond with God (this is how it works with me. God made the laws that govern how the universe works. He built the entire universe, down to every molecule, atom, and qwark), the point is, how you apply what you learn to your faith is what matters. Allow your eyes to see things you'd never seen before. Resist temptation, but allow yourself to be a man whose eyes are the eyes of Man that are not only always searching to glean more Truth from the Bible, and from Fellowship, but are ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS turned towards God with tears in your eyes. Take everything you learn in this world, and turn it to God. Physics is real, and God made them. Man is real, and God made them. Everything God made has a purpose, now use every part of Creation to increase your Faith 10-fold! Every religion has its moral code, every man has his own opinion. Ignoring another man's opinion is ignoring a gem created by God himself. I ask that you, and the rest of the community, learn to find gems everywhere you turn. I will state again: You do NOT have to be influenced by something unholy. You don't HAVE to, nor do I WANT you to give into temptation. I want you to stay as true as possible. I DO want you, however, to look and listen to other humans. They all have something to say, and everything they say has the right to be heard. Turn it to God. Always turn it to God.

Good night everyone. InitialConditions, setting up the stage for the next generation.

So, it's not one nation under God, it is one nation under many gods. Hmm.

This sounds like the wisdom of Solomon which was proven foolishness. He thought perhaps he could learn from other gods and not be affected. But his heart was turned after other gods. He thought this exploration was harmless, but gradually he was offended. And then when the light of the Truth came he was cut deep.

I hear what you are saying my friend, as I don't look at people as ''SINNER SINNER SINNER REPENT!'' No, not at all. But out of Love, knowing what we know that all sinners have their part in the lake of fire, well, I can take the bashing if this means that even ONE person will repent and be saved.

I have a better understanding now, that much of what I say is not for the present for some, but for the future for all who will hear the Word of Truth. So that even these things which seem to be trivial, even this conversation might be the beginning of the transformation of the Lord IN THE HEARTS of the hearers.

May Jesus bless you.

Since I feel this discussion is taking a step forward, I do feel blessed. Now, I gotta go to bed. 2 AM, and I can barely feel my fingers. It's hard to argue after a long day, don't you agree?

Night, all.

Christians are just like animals. Throwing stones back and forth at eachother, as if they're ever going to get anywhere.

As for Ramon, you are the reason Christianity has such a horrible name nowadays. Pointing the finger at your brothers and sisters, trying to win, as if they are the enemy. Get real.

JEBUS BLESS YOU
