In short it says that people use to hunt this way. They would go through the forest beating bushes and branches making noises to get the game to come out of the bush.

So they want to use as little effort as they can to seek their game. Sounds like atheists huh? Are we those branches then?

But God is in the Bush and he doesn't respond to noises or howling sounds. He is not some animal of yours, some game. And of course you have not found him because you have made no effort. Humble yourself and seek with ALL YOUR HEART MIND AND SOUL as to what truth is. Perhaps the Lord will show you mercy in showing you the error of your way.
