Do you look people in the eyes when you pass them at the store or wherever you are?

I purposefully avoid eye contact with sales people and others that I don't want talking to me.

Good idea

The eyes are the windows of the soul, the eyes can be used for control.

Sometimes I look into others eyes, other times I avoid it, or else prepare myself mentally so that i'm guarded not to let bad things in as a result of a controlling kind of spirit or thought process.

I had a friend who once let me in on part of a cultural concept that many people live, what they do is knowingly look into others eyes to gain dominance over them, and if you don't know what they are doing it makes it that much easier for them to manipulate you.

I've always depended upon the kindness of strangers rallly I have.

I tend to avoid looking people in the eyes because it is considered rude in some cultures, but people think you are dishonest if you don't look at them in American culture. so I just look between their eyes at their forehead for the most part. sometimes I will look people in the eyes. it took me like 3 weeks to notice what the girls were talking about with on of our friend eyes because I didn't bother looking into them. He had awesome golden eyes never seen anything like it.



When I want to know someone better I will look them right in the eye as we speak to each other but for the most part I tend to avoid it with strangers. never really thought why, I've just been taught since childhood to avoid eye contact out of politeness and respect.

on an interesting side note there is something to not looking dogs in the eye because they consider it a threat to their dominance and may attack you.

I hate when strangers look me in the eye unless I am interacting with them of course, but if we are just walking by each other in a store or something it can be creepy. I often feel like people are staring at me and it really bothers me. It happens at stop lights and in restaurants or anywhere where people are facing my general direction. Older asian men in my gym have stared at me a few times and it is really creepy. Even when i glance at them so they know I see them staring at me they keep staring. WHAT IS THAT???? I like to think they are impressed with my muscles because I'm not built like most asians, but I don't think thats it. Maybe they are trying to figure out my nationality. Why can't the women stare at me instead???!!!

I used to hate looking people in the eyes, but now I don't mind so much. I know when I've had people look me in the eyes and smile at me I felt like they cared more about me than someone who just walked by without glancing at me. Idk I guess I'm just weird haha.

I tend to look at just about anyone out in public and greet them.. Im very socialable.
when im talking to somone I tend to look them in the eyes most of the time, although sometimes when
I listen I look away.

If I'm walking, I randomly look at someone's eyes and we may or may not make contact but I will not stare them down point-blank (I'm cracking up just thinking about it but it's creepy).

Haha yeah, I try not to stare people down.

I sometimes look at the eyes if I am conversing. If it's the police I look them square in the eye, otherwise they think you are avoiding them, then I tell them YOU :br: did it

If I notice somebody staring at me I will turn to them and look them straight in the eye, usually resulting in them jerking their head in another direction lol. There are things you can read of a person by looking into their eyes. Most of the times if I make eye contact with a stranger I just smile at them then look away.

I never stare, but I always make eye contact whenever I am talking with people whether it be family, friends, bosses, strangers ect. The only reason I avoid eye contact is if I am avoiding the person. When making eye contact, it is usually uncomfortable for a person to be stared down by others, to have somebody glare into their eyes. While this doesn't bother me, I try to make it a point to glance away every once in a while so that I don't turn it into an awkward situation for the other person.

Also, if I am wearing sunglasses and get into serious conversation I will usually remove my shades so that person can see my eyes.

I make eye contact with just about everyone cause if not me just smiling makes me seem overly happy. if I make eye contact and then smile they know I'm smiling at them.

When i talk to someone i always look at them in the eye. If im passing someone i dont know, and there staring at me i usually stare right back and do the what are you lookin at expression.

I try to glance up at people for at least a moment when I pass them.
