Default Does life really get easier when one gets older?

I keep hearing people say that life gets easier as one gets older. Is this really true?

2 Corinthians 2:15-17
New King James Version (NKJV)
15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, as so many,[a] peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ..

Col 3
15 Andlet the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Not easier, but you understand things more clearly and know what to look for in certain situations. Also, you start to appreciate things more and your tastes change or at least expand to include things you thought were pointless and boring when you were younger.

I don't think it's that it gets easier. It's that you become more prepared through maturity to handle the nasty curve-balls life throws at you.

OK, I think I may have spoken too soon. It is actually easier when you get older because you won't have to do homework and you won't have to study for tests or be at soccer practice or ballet class and you won't have to fight with your brothers or sisters over stuff and you won't have to argue with your mom and dad and you'll be able to drive yourself around and make your own decisions about things without asking permission first.

But, once you do get older you will start to miss all those silly little things about being young.
