Hey everyone, while talking in Chat with my CC friends tonight, we came up with some creative ways to not allow ourselves to use our credit cards impulsively. One of the most common methods is to freeze them in a block of ice so they are difficult to get to in a hurry.

Post your imaginative ideas here about how to keep yourself from using your credit cards in the heat of passion when you see that perfect outfit at the mall, or you get the sudden urge to charge a European vacation on MasterCard . . . which isn't "priceless."

That's a great idea Lynn :)

What I suggested to a (now ex) girlfriend is: Get another purse and put the credit cards in that one, which will be left at home. That way, if you "just have to have that, " you will have time to think about it instead of just buying it right away.

Just a thought. :)

If you have kids that are younger you can tell them to find a good hiding place for your credit card. That way you don't know where it is but if you need it you will be able to find it

unless the kids dont remember where they put it. They have a tendency to have "selective" memory & hearing loss. :p

Haha true you could also get your husband/wife to hide the credit card but then again with the hearing loss

And if your kids are teens, they might use the credit cards themselves. :)

I cancelled mine so I wouldn't use it anymore. But I've known other people to have just cut them up. Those are the best ways. Maybe not creative, but then you REALLY can't use them.
