Well, I loved the first few Metroid games. Didn't much care for the Prime series though, not necessarily because they were bad games, but because first-person games leave me feeling discombobulated sometimes.

I still plug in Super Metroid on occasion, just to wander around in the atmospheric first half hour of it.

It's the opposite of a youtroid.

Ba-bum-pah! Ugh, sometimes I think my little displays are just a cry for help.

But seriously, a Metroid is like a flying alien jellyfish-thing. There's series of popular video games about them that began in the 80's and flourish to this day.

Right now, I feel extremely silly for saying, "But seriously, a Metroid is a flying alien jellyfish-thing." Let's be serious for a moment.

I know how you feel. I heart me too.

On a side note, Metroid garnered a lot of acclaim in its youth for being the first major release game to feature a female as the protagonist. Except for Ms. Pac-Man, of course. Also, it had a really cool, haunting theme song. Here's a really neat adaption of it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXtD2DSYNwY
