Take a look... switch on your tv... scroll through the channels... filtering through it all.. ads, news, sitcoms, supposed 'reality', supposed 'lifestyle'.. almost everything you see.. how many times are you offended... how many cynical laughs pass your lips at the absurdity they force feed you and expect you to accept with a coke and a smile.
From time to time they release something good... something I can watch without being offended every second I'm trying to relax.. and then they cancel it due to "lack of funding", or praise be they actually finish it... But this is still TV. We were never on good terms.... I never liked you...
You're like a giant fat man that people invite into their house that talks about the grossest depravities non stop until they are just used to the spewing fountains of garbage that erupt from you... all so the odd diamond can be scooped up.
I know this is can be "unpopular", but download what you want to watch on tv. Cut out the giant fat man spewing obscenities you wouldn't stand to be near if you met in real life.
And if you have any antiquated "ethical'' dilemmas here about downloading. Note, if they give it away "for free" on tv you aren't "stealing" anything from them.
Rant over (hops of soapbox).

Go mrpower. I haven't watched TV for 20 years now, and I feel so much cleaner for it.

Good comparison to a person invited into your house. You wouldn't let a person rave and rave.

I find worldly imaginations (program writers) very dirty.

I try to watch the church channels, or true life stories of hope. If I watch the news, I usely pray the whole time. But yes I have seen the otherside of T.V. Sad, Sad and Sad.

I must admit to a certain addiction to a few of the "unclean" shows, but I mind myself more and more filtering the content through my Christian beliefs. While violence does exist in the real world (with nowhere near the frequency TV would have you believe), I find that I can no longer stomach the many instances of gratuitous sex and other immoral acts which are commonplace. Unfortunately, my cable service limits my choices of Christian stations, so I cannot watch as much as I would like.

Of course, it's all about the ratings; just another sad commentary on the state of the world today.

Bust TV .Or reduce it, if you have reliable other information sources!
They exist!

If you love Jesus, that means you love yourself!
Question your earthly life as whole..Read the New Testament..
It may sound strange . But this land is enemy land.It is.
Jesus had to come to ransom us from enemy country in spiritual view.
Otherwise we would be all lost.

How about some alternatives such as:

Get rid of Cable TV service and add a small antenna for viewing local stations for news.

Use the money you save to give half to a good cause, and the other half to invest in your
scriptural knowledge and spiritual ministry

Use the time saved to go for a walk, talk to a neighbor, exercise a bit, witness or discuss
scripture - online or in person, do a little research and reading on your favorite scripture
or peripherally related subjects.

HOW MANY MORE CAN YOU ALL ADD??
