If you have been a christian for a while, I'm sure that you have heard
the story of the woman with the issue of blood. Her story begans in
Mark 5:24-35...And Jesus went with him {Jairus, one of the rulers
of the synagogue, whose little daughter was at the point of deah} ; and much people followed him, and thronged him. And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered
many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and
was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard
of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
For she had said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt
in her body that she was healed of that plague .
And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out
of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my
clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude
thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in
her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole;
go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
End of story or is it? The Holy Spirit told me to read Mark Chapter 6.
So I read the whole 6th chapter of Mark, and really didn't see any thing about the woman with the issue of blood, until I came to verse
56...And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might
touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
I believe that if the woman in chapter 5 did not have the faith that she had, then there would not be a Mark 6:56. Because of her faith, the word quickly got around. This woman lived in Capernaum, but her fame went into the land of Gennesaret, 3 miles away.
You might say that 3 miles is no big deal, but the idea of as many as touched him were made whole, to me is a big deal.
Question is What kind of faith do we have? Do we have the
faith that Presses on in spite of our physical condition. It is
easy to have strong faith when we are feeling strong, but
when we are feeling week, do we lose that faith?
And what is faith anyway? Faith is believing that Jesus can
and will do something about our situation. When we stick by
our faith, no matter what, then our healing will began and
we will not only be healed, but we will become a strong witness to what Christ can do.
