The first time that God had spoken to Abraham, He use the phrase,
"I Will" five times. These words Abraham would hear over and over
about everytime that God would speak to him.
The "I Wills" of God are divided up into seven categories.
The first category is Genesis 12:1...I will shew thee a land.
Genesis 12:7...Unto thy seed will I give this land:
Genesis 13:14 - 17...And the LORD said unto Abram, after that
Lot was separared from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I wii give unto thee the lenght and the width of it.
;

Genesis 17:8...And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an
everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

The 2nd category is found in Genesis 12:7, Unto thy seed will I give this land.
Genesis 13: 16...And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed be numbered.
Genesis 15:13 - 14...And he saidunto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall
they come out with great substance.
Genesis 17:7...And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
Abraham's seed begans with
Isaac.
Genesis 17:19...And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish my
covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
Genesis 17:21...But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
Genesis 18:10...And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo,Sarah thy wife shall have a son.
Genesis 18:13-14...And the LORD said unto
Abraham, wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall
I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is there any
thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed
I will return unto thee, according to the time of life,
and Sarah shall have a son.
Genesis 22:10,15-18...And Abraham stretch forth his hand,
and took the knife to slay his son.
And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of
heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn,
saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing,
and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in bless
ing I will bless thee, and in muliplying I will multiply thy seed
as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is
upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gates of
his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the
earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

The third category would be that God will make Abraham and Sarah a great nation.
Genesis 12:2 ...And I wll make thee a great nation.
#12...Genesis 17: 3-6...And Abram fell on his face:
and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold,
my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father
of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more
be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham;
for a father of many nations have I made thee. And
I will make thee exceeding fruitful,
Genesis 17: 6...and I will make nations of thee, and
kings shall come out of thee.
Genesis 17:15-16...And God said unto Abraham,
As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name
Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her,
and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall
be of her.
The fourth category is
Genesis 12:2...And I wlll bless thee, and make thy name great.
After Abraham died, his name is spoken 62 times in the old
testament and 68 times in the new testament, making a total
of 130 times. To have his name spoken that many times after
he died would certainly be an indicator of the promise that God
made him.
The fifth category is
Genesis 12:3...And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him
that curseth thee:
Here are two exambles of God blessing and cursing those who had
blessed and curse Abraham.
In Genesis 12:10-20 we read about Abram and Sarai going down into Egypt because of a famine being great in the land.
Abram knows Sarai is a good looking woman, so he thought the Egyptians would bumped him off, and take her! So he tells her to
tell everybody that she is his sister. And she agrees to do this.
They enter into Egypt and Pharoah's men see her and take her
to Pharoah's house. He sees this attractive woman and wants her
to be his wife. He believes that Abram and Sarai are brother and
sister, and he gives unto Abram, sheep, and oxen, and he asses,
and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels
as a dowery for the purpose of taking Sarai for his wife.
The LORD sees the whole thing and he sent great plagues upon
Pharoah and his whole household in order to get them to release Sarai.
Pharoah tells his men not to do anything to them, but to send them
away, and Abram took with him everything that was given to him.
The same scenario took place 24 years later. Abraham and Sarah
are heading south into Gerar. Because Sarah is still a goodlooking woman, Abraham still believes that he will be bumped off, so he used the same plan as before. This time Abimelech, the king of Gerar
has eyes for Sarah, so God dwelt with him through a dream, warning
him not to touch her because she was Abraham's wife! Abimelech
takes this warning to heart and gives Sarah back to Abraham along
with sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants. And
he tells Abraham that he can stay anywhere he wants!
Because Abimelech heeded the voice of God, Abraham prayed
for him, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of
Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.

The sixth category was God's will concerning
Ismael.
Genesis 17:20...And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

The seven category was
Genesis 12:3, and in thee shall all families of the earth be
blessed.
Galatians 3:15-18 reads, Brethren, I speak after the manner
of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed,
no man disannulleth, or added thereto. Now to Abraham and his
seed were the promises made. He said not, And to seeds, as
of many; but as one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. And this
I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in
Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after,
cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but
God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Galations 3:28-29 reads, There is neither Jew nor Greek,
there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor
female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be
Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to
the promise,
