For awhile now I have wanting to plan a trip for myself(since all of my friends are married and broke with kids). Since I live in the western US, I thought I'd shoot for New Mexico or Arizona(Sedona is really sticking out to me right now).
For me it's not a vacation to go see the sights and be all adventurist. It's to stay in a nice hotel/resort and let all of my worries drift away for a few days. Let myself be pampered for a few days.
But I've only been on vacations that other people have planned. So I don't even know the first thing about planning. If I go to Sedona then I for sure have to make time to visit family in a town near by. Or they will think I hate them.
But I also thought about Albuquerque. But how do I know what hotels to look up.
I don't even know what websites to read. I know they are out there because I've read about them, but I don't know which ones to trust and who are going to give the best reviews.
Maybe Mesquite Nevada, though I've heard that all the casinos are going out of business(I could go to Vegas, but I'm not there for the sights and excitement, I have no desire to even leave my hotel). I just want to go somewhere that I can just relax and let the stress of the last few years just melt away.
If I had my way I'd go up to Seattle or Montana but there is no way I can afford airfare also.
Any advice y'all can give me would be much appreciated. :)
