i have been on this site now for about 5 or 6 months
and for me the best room to get in roads was the bible staudy room ,,,,, now this may not be your ideal room but once you get to know a few people this will help you with the other rooms ,,,,,, i know its hard but just join in what ever topic is being talked about even if all you say is ** i agree **
Also start chatting on the mic ,,,,, there is so often 2 or 3 topics going on at one time ,,, the one on the mic and the typed chat as well
But there are lovely people here and God bless you as you chat ,,,, wishing you all the very best GBU

I'd agree with Baddogs suggestions. The Bible Study chat also tends to have more of a 40+ age range, while the Lounge is more 20ish, kind of to 30ish. So the type and tone of the conversation can be a bit immature in the Lounge.
You could also try Private Messaging (PMing) people. Just make sure they are ok with it first. Some people are very adamant against PMing, and some just like to be asked first. I see you're married. So if you are not worried about PMing men, i'd still suggest waiting to see which men are vocal and have better reputations. There are still some bad guys on this site, unfortunately. Usually the quieter the guy the more questionable their behavior. This isn't always true (i'm quiet in chats, i prefer PM).
But yes, best thing is jump into the conversation and pretend you're an old buddy.
