I recently asked God into my life and I used to have a porn addiction but don't have a desire for that stuff anymore. I still get aroused sometimes when I'm by myself and like everyone I know I sometimes masturbate. I love my wife with all my heart and don't want to commit a sin but I'm not sure if masturbating is a sin. I don't think about other women, only my wife. I can't find anywhere in the Bible where it talks about masturbation.

Well. Masturbation isn't in the bible so isn't a sin but lusting is a sin and you can't masturbate without lust. So if your lusting for your wife then I can't see it being a sin.

Actually, if you read that In Context its not geared to all men. It is a story about a specific man, and a direct command from God. It was not intended as a general rule.

To the OP, masturbation is all about fulfilling your selfish lusts. Both of these things are talked about in the bible. Also, masturbation is a sex act. Sex is designed to be only in the bounds of marriage and SHARED by a husband and wife. Sex is not just about getting off, but its supposed to be something loving you share with a person you make a lifelong commitment with. How does that work with the idea of sitting and pleasuring yourself, while you could be using that time to making love to your wife. Or finding some other positive thing to spend your time in.
So while its true, its not mentioned in the bible, when you consider the intents and motives behind it, its easy to see it is not good.

Its not going to affect salvation. The above postings are correct, it is carnal and not spiritual. Listen to the holy spirit. You will feel conviction and guilt if you pray about and holy spirit tells you not to. Sin is sin wheather minor or big it don't differ to much from cussing or getting drunk. It will not bring you closer to god but will not send you to hell.

Id say so ha ha because in Christianity everything is considered a sin even thoughts some way to live huh?
