what do you think.Is it ok to join the military for our country,knowing that you may have to fight and kill?

There is a distinction between murder and killing. Murder stems from animosity, hatred, jealously and evil in the heart. Killing on the other hand, can be done without any malice or evil in the heart. I have no desire to harm or murder anyone, yet i would kill someone to protect my family, for instance. I believe the same applies to the military. God knows the military exists, He's used military men many times throughout history. He knows some Christians will have a desire to serve their country in a military manner. And He understands that killing may be a part of that. I think long as the person isn't joining the military to be able to kill, then there is nothing wrong with it.

We are gods army. We fight spiritual warfare and we will come back with him at the second coming. I am a former marine and understand spiritual warfare more than I could otherwise. Moses was lead into battle by god. The above posting is correct. In the hebrew language killing and murder in the sence of battle and malice are different words. In the military following orders and protecting your own life do not go against gods word. However if you have convictiin not to, then don't join support troops and be patriotic without serving. There are also jobs in military where that possibility of being confronted with life or death is slim.

I think it’s okay to kill in self-defense and in defense of those we care for.
