[SIZE=+4]If anyone knows what it's like to be misunderstood, Jesus does. As we read here, these witnesses that came forth testified that Jesus said He could tear down the temple and build it up again in three days. Yes, Jesus did say that (in John 2:18-22), but He was referring to His own death and resurrection. The others misunderstood what He meant. They thought He was referring to the temple building where they worshipped. Many misunderstood who He was, and why He came.

So often in life, we too are misunderstood. It can be really frustrating, and even damage relationships if the misunderstanding gets passed around. I have found that when someone hears even just one negative thing about a person, it taints his or her entire view of that person, and often it's over a misunderstanding. I have also found that once a person's view of someone else is tainted, everything they hear about the person (as in gossip) just adds to the 'all-round view' they have of them.

Yet, what about 'Truth'? Where does truth come into this? We need to exercise discernment and sort out the 'lies' from the 'truth', the 'misunderstanding' from the 'facts'.

If you are one that has been misunderstood, then take heart. Jesus understands how you feel. Pray that the truth will be made known, and the explanation (either by you or someone else), will shed some light.

You don't have to feel alone in this. God knows the truth and He knows your heart. Leave it with Him!

Wow, Thankyou.

I have tried to justify myself with some people for so long & I'm tired of it.
A misunderstanding got way out of hand & I lost people who I cared about so much. Damage.
Also lost out on potential fellowship & friendship with the friends & family of the people I lost.. (hope that makes sense)
I have learned through it that even though mistakes are made, we are all in need of grace, not one of us is good, only the Lord God.
I felt soo alone during that time, battled with the enemy accusing me, battled with people's misunderstanding of me.
But it was Jesus who remained Faithful, despite me sinning He ministered to me, restored me with His grace, Loved me despite of me & my sinful states.
Praise the Lord, God is good.. all the time.
Thanks so much for posting this. I will try to look at how Jesus reacted when He was misunderstood..
Please pray for the damage to all people involved to be healed by Jesus, God knows what went on. Thanks >3
God Bless you.

People want to believe the worst about someone. They hear gossip and pass it on adding to it some
tidbit of their own, real or imagined. The only reason for someone to believe a lie is because that
someone wants to believe it, and believing a lie means acting upon it, usually.

There is only one truth, but everyone sees truth colored by their own feelings, regardless of the
reality of Truth. Ive noticed its those who pray the longest and loudest who are the very ones who
will destroy a persons rep. to make themselves appear in a good light. This seems to be especially
true of many chat people, who live and breath chat, who spend hours in chat ignoring their families,
their meals, sleep, their jobs, to be in a chat room.

People can always find an excuse for bad behavior, if they want to behave badly, sad to say.

Jesus was the most misunderstood by the people of his time, and again sad to say but people now
would do the same thing to Jesus Christ and perhaps worse. Truth can be fatal to those who live
it.

:) SOMETIMES I MISUNDERSTAND, OR MISUNDERSTOOD HERE ON CC. YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR NEW AND KIND OF NEW, AND PEOPLE HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR A LONG TIME, AND SAY ALL KINDS OF THINGS TO EACH OTHER SOMETIMES BAD THINGS BUT THEY UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER. WELL, I FREAK. THE FIRST THING I HAVE DONE, IS TAKE TO THE FORUMS AND WRITE SOMETHING NOT MENTIONING NAMES SO THEY HOPEFULLY WOULD READ IT AND REPENT. THEN THE NEXT DAY, THEY ARE APPLE PIE AND ICE CREAM TOGETHER. I THINK I AM LEARNING TO LET TO EACH HIS OWN BE. WE ALL HAVE ACCEPTED JESUS, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT RESIDES AND CONVICTS EACH ONE OF US IN A DIFFERENT WAY. WE ALL MESS UP SOMETIMES, BUT BY THE END OF THE DAY, IN OUR DEVOTIONS, ALL IS FORGIVEN AND FORGOTTEN BY A LOVING LORD. THE LORD REALLY DOES LOVE US. WHY SWEAT IT, HE IS GREAT ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH ALL THINGS. WE SOMETIMES ON THE OTHER HAND TRY TO LEND A HELPING HAND TO THE HOLY SPIRIT, WITH A HAND OF FLESH. :)
