I drink no coffee or anything else that contains caffeine. I don't eat chocolate, because it contains caffeine.

I have heard so many things for and against coffee. What is your reason for not having any caffeine?

When coffee (or anything else) becomes a god, it is wise to reject it. Today, coffee has a temple, called Star Bucks.

Where does your coffee come from, how is it grown and harvested and transported? We need to ask these questions of all things we are involved in. Thinking globally, and acting locally. The lives you save may be your own ...

Local Harvest / Farmers Markets / Family Farms / CSA / Organic Food

I buy green coffee beans. I check that the beans are shade grown, and that they come from a co-op of local growers. That is what the label “fair trade” means. It has been such fun learning about different coffees.

I roast these green beans in a popcorn popper. I put ½ cup of beans in the popper, let them roast for 5 minutes for a medium roast. Just the smell of fresh roasted coffee beans is worth the trouble. The taste is marvelous.

No work. Just put it in the popper, turn on the popper and timer, and when the timer says done, put the coffee in a sieve so it cools down fast. Done. If you like it darker, just let it pop longer next time.
