It seems you either accept your faith in God, or not.

Finney defines religion as your response to what God has done for you. It's pretty obvious that some people try harder to respond to god than others do.

Brother Oracle2World, you ask a very good and needed question for us all!The word Christian was not used till the book of Acts,I understand this to mean that by this time a Christian should ACT upon the belief of God's Word they now have.To me brother,as i can only speak for myself on this subject,a Christian believes that his or her faith is based upon other believers around them.

A believer to me, is one who bases his or her believe on there personal relationship to our Jesus.( HIS WORD!) Religion to me is something that man created, they also have laws to govern this as well you know!Every Church has requirments to become a part of them. You must believe this, you must never believe that, etc...

Some follow scriptures while others do not.Because man has chosen to place himself as equal to the Word, many churches suffer greatly because of this. I would name example of such churches, but I do not have to do this, most of you already know fully! Your own relationship in our Jesus is foremost important! And from this very personal relationship, we enter the church of our choice,to present him to others, to both encourage, and build up.( hebrews 10:25) What church is perfect?? No church, and no flesh is!( luke 18:19) Notice the reason Jesus was being called good! verses 20-30!!! But Jesus told the rich young ruler who thought he was so good something!! LOL

Jesus came to do two things. 1. full fill the law, which he did.and 2 Set us free from it!( Hebrews 8:6-13!!) Religion is many times under the law we are set free from. But it is most hard for many new believers to understand this, because every time we step outside, and get into our cars,we have all kinds of laws we are to follow! Seems natural to us,but it is not natural in Christ Jesus!Hence the difference between a believer, and one who is deeply religious to me BROTHER. thanks for the question! A wise thought!
