What are your personal thoughts on Gambling?

I play the lottery (scratch offs, pick 3) to win just a few thousand dollars cause i have alot of personal projects (animated music videos, inventions) i cant do without a team of skilled people to help me. Will god help me win if i pray? im not trying to win so i can buy a flashy car or a big screen TV... Is this a Noble Cause? I also have alot of ideas for Decorative Crosses i wanna do. THanks

I wouldn't recommend it because you are wasting money. The best way to get the money you need is to plant a seed in faith believing God will give you the money you need. The Bible doesn't give specifics about gambling, but it does tell us to stay away from get rich quick attempts. Read Proverbs 13:11. 23:5. It isn't necessary evil, it just what it can lead to. It can lead to an addiction. When you gamble, the chances you will win is not that high. It can ruin your life. I have seen it happen to many people. The allure of “getting rich quick” is too great a temptation to resist for those who are desperate.

The money you are using to gamble with, put it in a savings account. Soon you'll have the money you need for your projects.

To be honest with you, praying to God to help you win will not help.

All of the replies are good and you must remember one thing. Yes it says in the bible that if you ask you will recieve. (sorry im too lazy to go look it up) Well we have to think. Are we doing this with the right heart? What purpose do you have for the money? Is it something that can glorify God? These are questions that we all need to ask before doing something. Also something else to chew on.... So say your sitting there with your eyes closed for like and hour and your friend bob stops bye and asks "hey what are you doing?" and you simple reply "Im praying that God is going to give me strength to go rob this candy store". Logical? I think not. God is not going to give you power to do something against his will.

The bible says to be content with what you have and keep your lives free from the love of money. The love of money is the root of evil.
