What is missing?

I don't want to be pessimistic. But sometimes I wonder if I'm seeing something completely different from what most people see. The impression I get of most Christians and Christian communities is that something is just not where it should be. I see youth groups pursuing distractions and games as if the youths attention span is to short to be held by the reality of God and all that goes along with it. Not just youth groups but I see a masking and a fake-ness, everything seems to sterile or incapable of reproducing life.

Part of that may be me projecting my own inconsistencies into what I see, but it seems widespread. Where are the people who genuinely talk to God and hear his voice? Where are those who love with no holds barred and take giant risks? Where are those who are willing to take a stand? Where are those who are waiting to hear what God is really saying today?

Am I the only one who sees how destitute we truly are in the knowledge of God? Maybe I see the lack because at one point I glimpsed the reality of God enough to know that to see him once is to know true fascination, and to awaken a hunger that will not quit. Maybe I'm not the only one who has seen this.

We were not meant to mask our weakness but to glory in his strength. In order to do that we have to see his power. We were not meant for distraction but divine fascination; fascination with the beauty of God. I'm not trying to condemn any. But I believe God is calling us; myself included to walk in a greater revelation of who He is and who He says we are.

I completely agree with you..... Why aren't the people that are supposed to belong to Him, talking to Him and seeking Him?? Why are they not fasting and reading His word everyday? Why do they say they are Christians when they live a totally sinful life everyday, guiltless?! Why are they not on fire for God??

In almost every church you go to, you look in the teenage "class" and they're just hanging out. There really is no studying going on. Also, you look in the sanctuary during the sermon/preaching, and you have teenagers texting, chewing gum, writing notes back and forth...... RUDE. Not only to the preacher, but also to God.

Our generation is going to take the hand of GOD to wake them up.

So many questions unanswered... wish I knew why too!

It starts with me...and you...We need to show the fear..respect of God in our own lives. You are so right about the lack of respect in our churches, but we who see the problem must be the examples. And a word fitly spoken goes a long way to teach others about the need to be respectful, God fearing Christians. This world is going to a Christless hell and when we wake up and see that truth we will get a better view of The Holy, Merciful God who made it possible to escape that end and we would have some respect for Him His Word and His messengers.

We should just Pray for all the Church'es and the People. I am not much on the Harry Potter Movies [no offince to anyone] but they seem to think that those movies are OK to watch. But it has Witch Craft in them

I dont know if this is what I am suppose to write in here. sorry if not.

We all need too pray for are Pasters because they are the first ones that Saten well attack and do too are pasters leading us the way God has appointed them too do we all need too hold them up in prayer

Pick a time and day that we should all stop what we are doing and pray, for our Christian Leaders and for the Body of Chirst as a whole. Set the time and date, and I will come back and monitor this thread.
