My favorite is the 1984 version with George C. Scott as Scrooge. I think anything George C. Scott touched turned to gold. The 2009 movie with Jim Carey isa close second.

George C. Scott as Scrooge is some great acting, as always with Scott. I hasn't been playing as much this year

I've seen several versions of ACC and my fave is the 1951 Alastair Sim version. It does have a few scenes that are not in the book (such as Scrooge giving Mrs. Dilbert something Christmas morning) but is still the best. I often watch it 3 or 4 times a year starting in November.

Scrooge hated xmas, but was brainwashed into liking that pagan holiday by three GHOSTS. Need I say more?

Hey, unless you're gonna contribute somethig to the discussion at hand, don't reply to my thread. Take your "Christmas is blasphemous" debates somewhere else.

1) I DID contribute something to the discussion, and it was not off topic.
2) The celebration of Xmas is more pagan than blasphemous in nature.
3) This is an open forum, so in principle I can post anywhere I like.

I have four different versions, but not the micky or muppet ones.
Love them all and watch them all through out the year. :)
There is one with the next generation star track captain playing scrooge as well.:)

God bless

I'd suggest ignoring the troll. They don't go away if you feed them.

Yes, that could work too. If you don't agree with someone, just call him a troll. Saying like that makes you sound kinda shallow, don't you think?

Trolls never think of themselves as trolls. This forum needs an ignore feature....

To get back on topic (AHEM), I've seen about 4 different versions of ACC: the 1938 version, the 1951 version, the Albert Finney version (1971 I think?) and "Scrooged" (don't remember the year). I personally like the 1951 version best.

BTW for any Alastair Sim fans, he also did the voice of Scrooge in an animated version of ACC from the 1970s. It's on Youtube.

You're using circular reasoning... and yes, let's all IGNORE whoever doesn't agree with us. I'm gonna ignore this thread RIGHT NOW, so have fun ya'll... ;)

Yes, you bet we'll IGNORE those who insert mindless opinions into a thread ...aka trolling...then resort to lame excuses and name calling....and get upset whenever someone calls them out for who they are.
I'm sure Newluke will be back here since, being a troll, he expects everyone to agree with *him* and can't resist a fight. Just report and IGNORE him.

Anyway....like I said, I've seen 4 versions of ACC....actually with the animated version that makes 5!

I don't think anything I say will make you or sing4lordjesus change your mind, nor can I be bothered about your opinion of me anymore. There's nothing i can do about your judgemental attitude, but I still love you both in Christ Jesus. I'm not sure the feeling is mutual though.

Well then since Newluke has me on ignore, he won't mind if I say that I knew he'd come back, in typical troll fashion. He said he wouldn't and yet he came back anyway. There's your proof of a troll. Every time he posts he will be reported unless he actually contributes something positive.

As far as I'm aware, the Patrick Stewart version was only released as a freebie with The Daily Mail in the UK. I got a copy from Ebay.
