So far I saw 2 of them.

1. Is Abortion Murder? That one even has 22 pages of comments. Why is this even a question among Christians?

The other one is of a personal nature to the poster.

Is it my imagination, or is there a lack of maturity among Christians today that they come up with questions that really shouldn't be questions?

Just because something is obvious to you does not make it obvious to everyone.

I think it's a good thing that people have a safe place to discuss things that they are unsure of.

Some of these questions would make people feel too awkward to bring up at a "real life" meeting with other Christians, for fear of being criticized or judged for asking something "too obvious".

It's good that they care enough at all to be curious about it in the first place.

So you think I'm wrong. Do we not have the same Holy Spirit guiding us? When we are in Christ, do we not have the mind of Christ?

I don't know. That depends on where you are coming from. Are you saying that you think people confused about the "how"s and the "why"s about certain matters should not openly ask about it, but remain ignorant in silence?

I don't think she's saying your wrong. She didn't even state her opinion on the subject at all. She just said that it's nice to have a place where people can go and ask questions with fellow Christians

I personally dont think these questions are wrong. Sure there are interpretations of one or two scriptures that hint at life beginning at conception but its not a set fact so if one doesnt believe in that then there is nothing to kill.

I am not saying no one should ask questions. I have many myself. But, abortion! Why would any Christian be confused about that?

Who is saying people are confused? Some just have their own opinions on the subject. Seeing how an opinion on abortion isnt one of those highly important things that determine salvation, i dont think it matters if there are varying opinions.

Clearly people do have different opinions, so your opinion that Christians shouldn't just isn't going to happen.

I'd rather we get "pointless" questions and at least get a discussion out of it than people who are afraid to voice out for fear of getting told they aren't really a Christian, yadda yadda. Besides, it's healthy that people don't all share the same opinion, especially on such controversial issues.

That is a the quote of a post from relena7. Notice the word "confused."

In my recent post I was answering several posts at once. There is just no that a saved person can believe that an abortion is okay. Besides, remember what David said. "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." And, "In my mother's womb you formed me." God forms what is in the womb. Who is man that he can arbitrarily kill what is in the womb?

being formed in the womb, gives absolutely no creedence to the belief of life at conception. Everything created by God is fearfully and wonderfully made if one takes that view. yet I dont see people up in arms over deforestation or endangered animals. If life begins at birth then you are murdering nothing.

Yes, yes it is. Ever read Genesis?

yet I dont see people up in arms over deforestation or endangered animals.
I am not a fan of PETA, but I do not believe being stewards of the either entails intentional destruction. Note: Destruction is not the same as manipulation and transformation.

If life begins at birth then you are murdering nothing.

well if you dont believe life begins at conception...which i dont. then there actually isnt a life being extinguished. I think abortion is abused by some but overall has a place in the world for cases like rape or incest. Abortion is only wrong if you think a joining of an egg and a sperm is automatically a human being and not a combination of an egg and a random sperm in the beginning

Seeing as this has slowly crept up to become another abortion topic, I think I should clarify that I personally don't think abortion should be done (except for with the situations Nautilus pointed out above). However, I can also see how there is still room for a discussion or other opinions about it. I do not think less of someone if they think abortions are okay (within reasonable circumstances).

Everything God has created is wonderful. You are correct, but the mentioned passage is specifically talking about man, The translation of "wonderfully" in Hebrew actually means "set apart" from the rest of creation. Meaning that man was the greatest of all he created.

As far as the argument about hurting trees and animals while God does not condone destruction of the planet or animal cruelty he did give us dominion over all the animals including the right to kill fo food.
We are also to care for animals as well.
Proverbs 12:10 says A righteous man cares for the needs of his animals. Exodus 21 says if an animal is a threat then it should be put to death.

One interesting thing is though is that out of all of the animals mentioned in the bible very few if any of the passages refer to them as pets or domesticated animals. Dogs are mentioned 40 times in the bible and not once were they looked at as a pet. They were wild and considered beasts and normally dangerous. They weren't cute little poodles they fit in a pouch.
What few references there are about dogs where they are not considered beasts is when the scriptures talk about them as being work dogs for herding, and hunting.
There is also no mention of cats in the bible.

Anyway... the fact that MAN is the one that domesticated animals is one reason why pro-lifers don't regard them as significant as humans. God doesn't even hold them to the same importance as us. So for anyone to compare an animal or even hold it to a higher standard than humans is not even biblical.

Have you given consideration that not everyone who asks these 'obvious' questions is a long time mature Christian? Its rather judgmental to not give people a chance, and be understanding that people don't immediately gain all biblical knowledge at the time of salvation, but rather it takes time to learn the bible and grow.
What if they're a newer Christian, but their church has never covered a topic they have a question on. May be time to stop making assumptions and start trying to help.

There is a natural principle that all life begins with a seed.

This has come up before. My reply is, do we not have the same Holy Spirit to guide us? Are we not in the same Christ? I think many consider maturity in a human way. When the Holy Spirit dwells in us, and we are in Christ, their maturity is in us as well. But even in the flesh, most of us have heard the commandment, "Thou shall not kill." When becoming a Christian, that should be understandable to you immediately.

I agree. Why...some people would not consider this to be humorous at all...
