Hello everyone-

As I've said before, often times I get bombarded and blasted with intrusive thoughts, questions about God, why He does or allows certain things, doubt, etc. My fear of the unpardonable sin is something that causes me anxiety and to feel like I'm walking on eggshells in my mind. My question is: If blasphemous thoughts occur, and if they are against the Holy Spirit, intrusive or perhaps even out of frustration and not intrusive, can that ever be forgiven? What if for a brief time we begin to think in our hearts what the Pharisees were saying and question it, but then come back to God? What if all of this occurs on purpose and is not intrusive, but rather conscious, for example. Is it forgivable? I feel as if no one knows the answer to the question of the unpardonable sin with true conviction. Please, correct me if I'm wrong on that.

God bless you all

Honestly, I'd say you hit it it the sense that only God can know for certain. I will say if you have a random bad thought, just rebuke it and keep going. I believe we shouldn't dwell on them, but don't get worked up over it. For freedom Christ has set us free.

Such thoughts come to ones mind sometimes.
Satan likes to whisper in our ears.
I have found that anytime a thought like this comes to mind, I praise God in Jesus's name.
By doing this, such thoughts vanish right away! :)
Scripture says, resist the devil and he will flee.
Praising God is a great weapon of resistance. :)

God bless

Those thoughts are from the enemy who is trying to exploit your doubts. What you need to do is stop avoiding the question and ask God to help you resolve them so the devil can't use them to torment you anymore. God is not afraid of your questions and thinking them are not blasphemous unless you are cursing God in your mind but God knows your heart and as far as I know the only unforgivable sin is blaspheming against the holy spirit which as to be spoken out loud not thought.

I replied to a very similar thread that you had posted.... maybe you did not see it or it was not helpful?
Anxiety is a horrible affliction and can come out of no where. Of course you can and ought to turn to the Word, pray and find comfort in Gods promises for you. He does not want you to live a life of fear...but then neither do you!! if only it was simple to 'shake it off'. I do think a read through Mathew chapter 6 could be useful, it has a lot to say about anxiety.
Practical solutions? :)
Another suggestion is to really home in on your thoughts...they pop up spontaneously, thats why Paul tells us to 'take hold of them' challenge them. Feeling anxious? confront it, analyse it, whats happening? is something bad actually happening or do you just feel bad? there is a BIG difference :)One way is to write down your thought, then write whats negative about it....evidence for it? then write down an alternative, a positive alternative. You may not actually believe it, but this raises your awareness around the reality of your thoughts. Our thoughts, negative or positive then influence our behaviour. Wake up feeling low? = possibly just stay in bed which means you feel lower. So, challenge your thoughts with looking at the choices and consequences. ''I can stay in bed...or I could get up and do a, b or c. What would the benefits be to me of these? make a list of the things you could do to 'change your focus of attention' away from dwelling on your negative, anxious thoughts. Maybe going for a run / walk, laundry :) cooking, watch a DVD etc or maybe chatting on CC :) then, pick one and do it!! if you really cannot get yourself pulled up and the feelings are getting more overwhelming, a simple breathing exercise can help, put on some music on and sit comfortably, focus on breathing in slowly through your nose for count of 7 and blow out through your mouth for count of 11, you will not get it right straight away if you are tense, so just focus and keep going, slow and steady.
If you are saved, in a repentant relationship with Jesus Christ, you have nothing to fear. You are a child of God. read your Bible, all the wonderful promises of Gods are yours. Do not dwell on what can go wrong...if you do...are you not doubting the power of Christs saving Grace? You are forgiven. Believe it and walk in it!! and God Bless you. <><
Hope this is useful :) <><

You should check out the book of Habakkuk. It's a short old testament book (only 3 chapters). I don't know what bible version you prefer, but I really enjoy reading the old testament in a side by side of NIV and The Message. Habakkuk is constantly filled with questions and doubts, but instead of trying to quiet them he brings them before God and waits for an answer. Of course the answers are never as easy as God yelling down at us, but when you are patient and your heart is open you'll hear His answer just fine.

Habakkuk 1: 1-4 (The Message)
Justice Is a Joke
The problem as God gave Habakkuk to see it:

God, how long do I have to cry out for help
before you listen?
How many times do I have to yell, “Help! Murder! Police!”
before you come to the rescue?
Why do you force me to look at evil,
stare trouble in the face day after day?
Anarchy and violence break out,
quarrels and fights all over the place.
Law and order fall to pieces.
Justice is a joke.
The wicked have the righteous hamstrung
and stand justice on its head.

When you have questions, bring them to God. Pray about them and allow your heart to be open enough to receive God's answer. It's not a sin to have questions and doubts as long as you don't let them pull you away from God.

A righteous man falls seven times a day and gets up seven times a day, repent and JESUS will forgive you and move on. NUMBERS chapter 6 verses 22 to 27, bless you.

Hi. My heart goes out to you. I suffer with thoughts like this. In my case I have suffere OCD since childhood both compulsive and intrusive forms and a few years back the intrusive thoughts started. I read up on this and discovered it was simply another form of OCD. I still struggle and have fears of losing salvation because the thoughts would curse the Holy Spirit. Am on medication but that only helps a tiny bit and I feel guilt for being on it.

A person who has the Holy Spirit will always be counselled by Him in these matters. The Holy Spirit has counselled and guided me when it seemed I might stray out of the light. If you are indwelled by the Holy Spirit, you instinctively know how to stay in the light.
