how to deal with intrusive blasphemous thoughts and morbid fear of losing salvation?

Hi. I've had OCD since I was 7 (am now 31)in various different forms. For past 9 years I have developed an intrusive thought inside me to curse the Holy Spirit and God. I also have developed a fear of losing salvation if I disobey God in the smallest of things. I. Keep needing to ask for reassurance that oGod still loves me. How do I overcome this? Or should worried that I have committed some sin that might mean I'm not saved?

It's rare to see it persist past the twenties, but this is a spiritual sickness called "Scrupulous conscience". It is the devil trying to get you to think you are sinning when you are not, so you will give up hope for salvation, and stop trying to follow Jesus. Psychologically, the devil tries to make you keep thinking like a 7 year old, that everything is rules imposed from the outside (like "don't cross the street"), because you are too young to understand reality at that age. Adults don't need those kind of rules, but the way many people teach religion suggests that that is what following Jesus is. My solution was simply to get the realization down deep inside of me, that if you love God enough to ask a question like this, you love Him too much to sin on purpose. It takes a little time that you have to keep telling yourself this, but as soon as your subconscious mind gets that clear, most of it seems to go away. Then the Lord is free to show you adult ways of thinking about life, and the freedom Jesus earned for you can begin operating.

If you have accepted Christ as your saviour, then you are saved and you need to rest in the Lord.
Even though we are saved the devil will still come to try and torment us so that we become ineffective Christians.
Ineffective in our own lives and ineffective to be a witness to others.
As for your condition, God can take away OCD according to His will.

To overcome wrong thoughts, read the word of God diligently.
Every time a wrong thought comes to your mind, recite scriptures.

Our fight is a spiritual fight but we have the tools
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power
to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against
the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

When I first came to Christ, I too went through similar thoughts.
But I don't now (15 years since I accepted Christ).

In our christian walk we are going to encounter attacks, that's why it is very important to
have a close realtionship with our Father in heaven through prayer and reading his word diligently.
As you continue doing this, your faith will grow more and more and the intrusive thoughts will become less and less.
Basically, as you fill yourself more and more with godly things, then the wordly/wrong things will get lesser and lesser.

OCD is an awful thing for you to have to cope with...you have my sympathies.
this counsel will sound impossible for you right now, but the answer for coping, and ultimately being free from OCD....since you do actually realize the thoughts are irrational, is the learn to give absolutely no significance to the thoughts.

when they come, think : "irrational; insignificant".

for that is what they are. attach no significance to them at all.
you do know the difference between OCD thought and simple daily thought.
refuse to dwell on those those OCD thoughts.

above all, stay calm. at all times. the OCD thoughts have no significance.
stay calm and play audio recordings of your favorite verses, classical music or other things you find soothing.
don't be afraid or ashamed to discuss it.

remember...no significance - no power over you.
stay calm. don't let the insignificant intrusive thoughts drive your or control you.
they are meaningless.

i know you suffer, but you can endure until you are better.
and you will be. pray for help from The Lord.

A couple of the things that has helped me, the biggest things is to change our focus, (It is tough when things are not going well) One is to look at all the good things the Lord has down,the times He has rescued us. The times when we are aware of Him being with us. To look at His awesomeness and greatness. Memorize some of the Psalms and when these thoughts start coming against you,the Holy Spirit can bring these to mind. Stay away from the TV,secular music,and books. (Because some them don't help but make it harder to fight them off) Get some praise and worship music as it will take and place the focus on God and not ourselves.

And heed this scripture passage.

The promise of God is that if we believe in Christ we are saved.
Christ did all the work, we accept it, end of story.
That's why Paul could write the following conclusion:

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Rom 8:1)

I suggest you memorize this verse and repeat it to yourself whenever you feel guilty, or unsure.

Here is another passage about your security in Christ:

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish;
and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."
(Joh 10:27-29)

You got to pray to Gods Precious Loving Holy Spirit to remove these away. I deal with this but dont be scared of the thoughts come worse you got to. Use Gods Word and rebuke the thoughts in Jesus Name. I just dealt with a horrible attack you know why we deal with it becausw it humbles us, gets us closer to Jesus ♡♡ and glorifies Jesus. You can help others let awesome Abba Father USE you, HES IN CONTROL♡♡♡ also write down your battles.
The battle. When and how long. What happened. What did you do? Complain or praised Jesus our Lord and use His Word. And what was the lesson. The battle i just dealt with was helll oh wow but Jesus got me through it by not being scared of the thought and crying out to the Precious Holy Spirit to remove the thoughts. Oh how i love Abba Father Hes so faithful. Just rejoice i this suffering brings patience, perserverence read JAMES 1. Rememner these thoughts are not you. Do the 3 RS 1) Recoginize- who its from 2)reject if Jesus never said it by using the Word of God to the thought read 2 corthians 10:5 sumbit the thought to make it obedience to Jesus Christ. like a thought saying Gods mad at me no thats a lie 3)Replace the thought and say its written God loves me with an everlasting love. I am ugly no thats a lie say God said You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Use Gods Word the most powerful WORDS in the world. I have been dealing with ocd for 3 years i am getting it. You can get through it. You dealt with it before rught has God ever failed you by letting you fall?? Nooo so trust in what God says. God didnt give us a spirit of fear but POWER AND LOVE AND A SOUND MIND ♡♡♡♡♡ He didnt give us a power of disobience where we wont submit to Him He gave us His Precious Power to fight this. We already have victory, through Jesus Christ His Son. Take hear He already overcame the world. World meaning all evil. We should not fear, worry, doubt, be confused, have unforgiveness Jesus destroyed all that by His Precious Blood spilled for us on calvarly. Jesus has me submitting the thought too like Jesus this thoughts against you Please help me i dont want to sin against you. Please take it away. < this is being fear of hurting Jesus which is what we are supposed to do. FEAR OF GOD LIKE you fear police oh man i dont want to get into truoble i better not do that be afraid Of Our God Almighty Jesus Christ like that only Hes our judge not the police their not our judge.

Keep praying and reading the WORD and eventually as you behold the life shining on you from the life that Is In the WORD,you will get that aha moment,realizing how much GOD loves you and GOD's WORD will deliver you to the uttermost.

you have begun to see the 'pattern' that our 'HOLY ONE' keeps 'repeating' for others, -
just like He has done for 'us', in order for the 'next-beloved-ones' to get a glimpse of "His Light"?
