I used to be very passionate for seeking God through scriptures but I find my ability to read and understand the scriptures disappearing. I want to please God and although my relationship with Him been difficult am trying to get back in fellowship with Him but I feel like my desire to read the Bible has gone. At first I thought it was laziness so just made myself read it but I found it difficult to process. I must admit things went pearshaped with God because I had real fears when I used to read the Bible. I felt constantly like I was going to lose my salvation and had so many questions abhout things in the Bible I got a bit obsessive and found my mental health issues exacerbated. Now when I am starting to feel more positive about God I find I can't read the Word like I should! Its well annoying

I posted a reply in your other OP about this:
It is really hard to concentrate when you are not well. Reading can be tough. I think it is wonderful that you are hearing God and trying to be obedient. I cannot help thinking that if God has asked you to do something and that it is in His will, which reading the Bible sure is :) then He will make that possible for you...He will not ask of you, what you cannot achieve. But you need to 'push' on. there is a saying that the devil does not bother with those who have a dusty Bible. In your Bible is all promises from God, given to you. All the answers to life, to live in safety & security that you could ever need, your assurance, and your hope.
If reading is too much right now, do not set the bar too high, decide prayerfully what part of the Bible you would like to read and then try to read a chapter, maybe once or twice a day. Not trying to sit for an hour, but just 5 to 10 minutes. You will then feel better in yourself, success!! coz you will have achieved
:) Another way to receive the Word is through a DVD, or audio. Online? There are lots of free studies etc but be discerning in what sites you choose, maybe seek some advice first? Pray. Watch a Godly Christian channel on TV, they can be really good, Bible teaching, Praise & Worship and up-lifting testimonies :) Most of all though, start focusing on what you can do and want to do...and on all the promises of God. Keep saying them to yourself when the 'negative speech' rises :) God Bless you, remember God wants you to be free from all this...you cannot do it, but He most certainly can :) <><

I have to agree with Hattiebod here, I asked god to help me with having a desire for his word. I knew i wasn't gonna instantly love reading it so i asked him just to give me at first a sort of pull to read it. I also repented for all id have done and handed the situation to him knowing no matter how hard i try the bible will not be anything more than a book to me if i do this by own power. I also do not tend to read to much to start with. I have a study bible which i highly recomend and i read bit by bit and instead of thinking on how much to read i just absorb the knowledge i get from reading small amounts of the bible. I started in mark which i recommend as well.

I, too have been battling with this issue
I used to be so in love with it, I'd read it multiple times a day. Have my own Bible study but after time, life got in the way, the hard parts I meant, then my faith was tested and I know I should be praying and reading more but the desires aren't the same they used to be. I love my god and I pray and now, I had to download a pic I found online with verses to issues and found that it has helped me . I put it as my screensaver on my phone so that its always there. Whether I'm in need of peace, worries, need salvation, financial issues, impatience, love you name it, there's a verse and I'll go straight to it and read then say a prayer. That way we can get back to the habit. Pray about it even if it's just to tell him thank you. He knows your heart and what you want to say. Just keep pushing and know that he will not desert you...ever!/

Faith can be a difficult thing to maintain, and faith in Scripture especially, I think. What is it about the Bible that has you feeling so?
