I don't understand the 'reputation given' thingy. Occasionally I receive one... but what criteria? random? from mods only or am I suppose to be giving some also? In short what's behind it all?

That little star badge by the report button on a post is the reputation button. People can click on that and give you reputation. It's random (there isn't criteria a post has to meet) and unless you put your name in the comment, it's anonymous. You don't have to give any, I rarely do because I tend to use the "Like" button more often. :)

Well I guess Rep Power is given to us based on what the admins think of your posts or something like that from what I gather,I dunno..it makes no sense to me...lol I have a bunch of Rep Received but only 1 Rep Power. I guess the little green lights under your member status are randomly generated? I see other people like myself who are "senior member" with one green light, but someones might say (just giving a made up example) "Seeking Jesus 24/7!" while another members might read "Likes Yogurt & Read The Bible"...:) lol

There's about 10 threads in the User2 and/or Suggestion forums on this. Even the ones with answers, still don't have all the answers. Mods don't even give full understanding. Its an enigma and its never going to be revealed. :p

What is reputation?
Reputation is a way of rating other chat members depending on the quality of their chat forum posts. The reputation icon will be visible in posts.
Reputation may be positive
, negative
or neutral
. (Neutral reputation is only given when the person giving reputation does not meet the criteria set by the administrators to affect someone else's reputation.)

How do I give reputation?
To give reputation, click on the reputation icon in the relevant post. This will reveal a form to complete with the reputation type and the reason for giving the reputation. You may not give reputation for the same post twice.
How do I know what reputation I have received?
You can view the reputation that you have received in your Control Panel where it is displayed at the bottom of the Control Panel page. Here you will see the latest reputation that you have received and whether it is positive, negative or neutral. Your total reputation will be shown as a series of reputation indicators in your posts and profile. The more positive your reputation, the more positive icons will be shown. The more negative your reputation the more negative icons will be shown.
How much reputation is given? What is reputation power?
The amount of reputation that each user can give is shown in the user's posts as 'Reputation Power'. The value of the reputation power is determined by the administrators and may increase over time.
What if I don't want anyone to see my reputation?
You can disable the display of your reputation by going to your Control Panel and selecting Edit Options. On this page you will find a check box labelled 'Show Your Reputation Level'. Un-checking this box will remove the display of your reputation and replace it with the Reputation Disabled icon. You can still give and receive reputation while your reputation display is disabled.

Thanks for the great advice and support. Just recently when I realized there is such a thing as awarding rep points by looking to see what it is, it made me feel good and proud of God for allowing me to serve well for some. Later I thought, why not give reps to everyone who passes on the Word faithfully, and now I give them out freely because I want others who serve the Lord to have the same proud of God feeling I get from the feedback. It is wonderful to know the family is listening and sharing. Thanks my-adonai. By the way, adonai can be translated as My Lord, so He is your Lord, twice, wonderful. God bless you and hold you close forever, amen.

Ninja turtle is learning! (That's Me!) I googled what 'OP' means and how's the Reputation comment works. OP means Original Poster and here I read about Reputation Comment. Haha! So silly me!

I try to learn something everyday. The OP comment of yours was amusing as I learned that last week from a post.

Revelation 3:1-3 NIV
These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; You have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

It's good to be reminded of our reputation. Reputation Comments in a way wake us up and spare us for this kind of reputation... being alive but dead. Scary! God allowed this portion to be included here with a purpose. Likes or reputations, whatever, for God's people. God is the one who gave wisdom to the creator of this website in all areas ... threads, comments, chat. etc. Rep rep... hooray!
