My hubby and I don't have a lot of time to watch tv...so we tend to stick with tv shows because they are shorter then movies (tho we do enjoy the rare movie experience :)). We are almost done watching friday night lights (the tv series), any one have any other suggestions? we tried 'sons of anarchy' but pretty much despised all the characters on it to the point of distraction. lol

My family likes Once Upon a Time....

Take in note, I don't know how Christian it is because I never watched it. And my family isn't "Christian".

But I only hear good things about it from everyone.

It depends what you want in a TV series and who is watching. So until I know specifics I will not give any suggestions for a good TV series to watch. God bless.

We like pretty much anything: western, sci fi, drama, crime...whatever...as long as it's good. Like I said, we tried watching the 'sons of anarchy' (which is apparently the most amazing show ever) but didn't really like it. The same happened with 'the walking dead' (but, I'm not huge into zombie's). As for who is watching it, just my husband and me - always after the rugrats are in bed. :)

Firefly is great but there are some adult moments (more suggested than shown). It would be on the high end of PG-13 (I imagine, I'm an Aussie, we don't have the same rating system).

LOST

Fawlty Towers - excellent British comedy. Very silly.

I advise content that is educational or spiritual.

I like American Experience, though I watch it online because of it's educational content. I enjoyed recently watching a biography of Corrie Ten Boom who was a Christian in the Netherlands during the second world war.

Yes, the series is brilliant. Flawed at times, but brilliant. Also, the ending makes sense if you've watched the whole series and have recognised the ongoing themes. JesusChia understand this too.

Ignore what he says^
I loved the series :) best show ever.

As T_Laurich suggested, Once Upon A Time (Sunday nights on ABC) is very good. I've watched a few hit shows from cable and OUAT is actually as good as a cable show in my opinion. That's saying a lot for a network tv show, and there is really nothing in it that I've seen which would offend christians or would not be suitable for kids and I've watched every single episode. Its about fairy tale characters who were transported by a spell into a modern day town. It's a really good drama about good vs. evil.

Doctor Who! Sadly you have to make it through a subpar season 1 but once it gets to season 2 the show is great. Season 5 is when it gets really good though. And the seasons are only like 13-15 episodes each so not as long as american seasons.

The Wire is excellent but some of the content is very adult. It's a great series though, very deep, incredibly well-written and the characters are developed to Charles Dickens' levels.

I have watched Every episode of Once Upon a Time since it came out. There is like one 10 minute scene that children should not see unaccompanied without an adult but other than that, it'd harmless in terms of visuals. PG 13 at the most here in the USA. I am ADDICTED to that show.
