I recently deleted Facebook and asked them to remove me from all records.
I KNOW they won't as I know what they do with data.

I will post a link to a recent news item where the BBC (UK like me) had to push Facebook to remove wicked videos from their pages
BBC News - Facebook U-turn after charities criticise decapitation videos

This is about several pages that hosted videos of beheadings.
And please read (there are no pictures or vids in the link) the initial response from Facebook when the thing was complained about....

I'll quote it here as this is the core of my point (though go to the BBC link before for the bigger story)

"Thanks for your report. We reviewed the video you reported, but found it doesn't violate Facebook's Community Standard on graphic violence, which includes depicting harm to someone or something, threats to the public's safety, or theft and vandalism."
If you don't know what Facebook and Google and Apple and Microsoft do with your information please investigate - they sell ALL they know about you that you don't remember to say no to. In fact several have been fined when found out for ignoring the law.
But they have SO MUCH data (according to New Scientist it's about 1gigabyte per person on the planet) that for most people they claim to know more about you than you do.

Is this soon to become the land of numbers (PINs?) without which you cannot trade?
Will people who care mostly about money know all about you?

Facebook and Google and Apple own the servers upon which most of the world's websites run.
Sounds silly? find out who owns the company that hosts your website - I know I will check mine now
Where they are in the world no long matters - the companies are bigger that countries
Their finances (if fully disclosed globally) are bigger than countries.

It's wicked and it's doing what we were told.... it's creeping in and most, even Christians, are taking part :(

Check for yourself - I'm just a man.

I deleted from facebook years ago, I knew then how evil facebook would of become. and you are right you cant really delete from Facebook, as they keep of your data, to make money by selling it later on to certain people. its all money making, and no privacy even if you have all the settings done. So glad you found out about facebook now than too late.

I left Facebook two years ago. They were sharing entirely too much data about me with people. And I kind of got tired of my aunt constantly commenting on everything I'd comment on. It was especially embarrassing when she'd jump into arguments or debates I was having with other people. I'd just facepalm. I do miss Farmville though. I had a massive farm and tons of cool animals and items.

if you have android device, you can get Farmville for that. you don't need to be on facebook, or if you want, go to Games at Miniclip.com - Play Free Online Games you can place games like Farmville there. Facebook is most definitely evil.

Facebook visitor numbers have dropped a lot this year.

And the teen demographic is going elsewhere in droves.

Facebook executives don't seem too concerned when asked about this stuff... so I imagine they have some new evil plan up their sleeve, lol.

Yes....including here :) I am sure. If we are on the Internet we wave goodbye to privacy so we need to be cautious what we post / say. Facebook is not evil...TV is not evil...Whatbisnitnsome folks say? ''Its not guns that kill people, it's people that kill people ' so I think FB & social media is not intrinsically evil, it can just be used by some for what some may see as wrong. We need to stand on Gods Word in all things, including FB :) God will use all things for His purposes. He is the creator & the sustainer. As Christians, we have no need for paranoia & fear. I love FB coz it helps me to keep in touch with my friends scattered around the world. It also allows me to post inspirational things that my un saved friends do read and comment on. God Bless, <><

I have a Nephew your age who's one of my FB friends. I usually don't comment because I don't want to embarrass him. However one time this ex girl friend said some nasty things to him on his page, so as his dear old auntie I jumped in and gave her some what for. I apologized to him, he was OK with it and she doesn't bother him anymore. He did think it was funny that I said , my Joey is a nice boy. lol I couldn't help myself.
