Even in my young life, I've noticed some things in the church that have been lost. I'm putting my church down, I love my church it's an amazing church. I love the truth that my pastor preaches, even though sometimes it hits close to home. I'm also not attacking in other church. I'm talking about the church world in general, regardless of denomination. I may be wrong and I'm sure that some would agree and disagree with me. I'm not trying to cause a debate, but I believe that it is a concern today. I'm just stating what I have observed. I believe that the church has lost it's burden for the lost. There are so many broken and hurting people around us. People that we see every day, but instead of carrying a burden for them or having compassion, we tend to judge them and sometimes avoid them. I feel that the church people have lost accountability to one another. I remember one of my former pastor's telling me that when he was a young preacher starting out, he had people that he was accountable to, as did others in his church, accountability partners as they called them. The church, in my opinion, has also lost unity. I don't know about you, but I have heard about church splitting and arguing over the stupidest things, like what color the carpet should be or what color to paint the walls. It's hard for the Lord to work through us when there is discord among the brethren. Like I said, I'm not in any way attacking any church. I'm just saying that these are things that I have noticed, especially in the past five or six years of my life. My prayer is that I be more like Christ in all that I do. I want him to work through me and use me for him.

Maybe it is that your church that has changed direction. Maybe there is another church really reaching out, and you could help them do that. My wife and I used to help several churches do different things all at the same time. We are all one Body.

Kymberli, it goes much, much deeper than that. I don't think it is about "lost", it is about where are we headed. If you look at the news, you see God working in our world, and we must respond.

The church has gone from the Hebrews to the gentiles for 2,000 years. We are told that they rejected the Savior God sent and that was serious, so the gentiles took over, but God has a plan for the Hebrews. We need, now, to look carefully at our church to be sure it is based, all the way and in every way, on God.

God made it easy for us to be the church. God sent Constantine to help make it easy for us, Constantine had a council to clear up false ideas like the question of who is Christ. But it also cleaned the church of Judaism, so at times the church considered making the entire OT not part of our bible. He brought in pagan practices by saying they were about a different God.

You are looking at the tip of the iceberg in our church, that is good. But we need to look deeper.

Oh yes, we should have no law mentality. Of course the world operates with law, you can see it in how the ocean works. Stars, too. And the law is love, can we keep the love and ditch the law? Jesus came to save us from sin, and the law shows us sin. Maybe we better think again about ditching law mentality.

My church has not changed. I was just talking about how some churches have neglected what they used to stand for and some have accepted what they used to stand against. I'm not attacking any church and I wasn't referring to any specific churches. I was just saying some churches in the church world in general.

I guess I need to be careful. LOL I am in no way trying to discourage anyone or cause a big debate. It was just stating an opinion that's all. I didn't say that it was fact. I'm don't want to sound doom and gloom because I'm not saying that God isn't working. God has been working mightily, but the church must do it's part also. That's all I'm saying.

You are quite correct. This is, and has always been the state of things. It's even in revelation, about returning to your first love.
