consider this scenario

Driving on the freeway, I see a terrible accident, I call 911 and get out of my car. I see four guys with what looks like fatal injuries, blood spurting all over the place. I hear a weak voice say "What must I do to be saved?"

Should I say "Hold on guys, I'll go get my husband because I'm not supposed to preach the gospel or teach the gospel, try not to die maybe I can get Strong's on my phone and look up the original word for "spread" because I might be able to "spread" the gospel............ it's to bad that you don't know me because my life would reflect Jesus but maybe one of the EMS will be a Christian man and he could teach you how to be born again. Here use this shoelace as a torniquete maybe it will help stem the flow of blood out of your jugular, I'll try to flag down a man with a Jesus bumper sticker. Maybe if there were only one of you I could tell you about Jesus but there's four of you so that might constitute a group"

A little dramatic but see where I'm going? Is it semantics????? teach/preach/witness/spread if a woman embraces the keep your mouth shut and go cook where do we draw the line? Interested in how others view this.

Well, I will start and say that I will never keep my mouth closed when it comes to God and I am female.

I believe if someone was to ask my assistance with being saved, I would explain to the individual what they need to truly believe and what they need to say. I will also tell them my testimony.

I think I answered that too literally. Another wards where in the bible does it say women are not to preach. I don't know the bible yet as well as I know God. :)

Everyone of us that is saved should be able to quickly and briefly sit down and give them the gospel. God used women throughout the ages and yes men are leaders in the church but God doesn't expect them to sit on their hands and not proclaim what He did for each and one of us.

believes a woman should witness to all, but as far as having authority over man, no. showing them how to become saved, isn't the same thing as a woman being the head of the church.

It's perfectly fine (and encouraged) for women to share the gospel and talk about God with people. Me personally, I don't think I'd have ever seriously listened if it wasn't for some of the amazing godly females in my life. It's only positions of authority and/or leadership that women are not allowed to hold. It doesn't mean you can't ever speak to anyone about God ever.

This is a ridiculous statement, the prohibition of women teachers is strictly within the context of the public gathering of the church. In 1 Corinthians 14:34, Paul orders women to keep silent and be submissive however, he has already given us the context of this instruction in verse 26 by saying 'when you are assembled together'.

Paul never prohibited women to teach in other contexts, in fact he encouraged it in Titus 2:4 where told the older women to 'teach the younger women'. In Act's 18:26 Aquilla and PRISCILLA informed Appolos about Christ. It is prohibited in the public worship of the church because that is where the 'body of Christ' is represented and Ephesians 5:23 tells us that 'Christ is the head of the church, and man is the head of woman'. Therefore this divine headship/submission order must be represented there.

I understand there must be order in the church, I also understand we are all in submission to first Christ, a wife to her husband, a man to his employer, a citizen to thier government. My thread started out take it to the limit because I had been reading antiwomen teaching/preaching. I thought of a woman named Marylin Hickey. She's been so faithful and used of God and I think what a loss it would have been if she stayed home and made cookies.

Thank you taking time to reply and God Bless you.

I don't see why a dying man can't wait a few minutes for you to get your husband.

Women are always in such a rush.

I've never heard it taught women can't be witnesses. either you're hearing people with bad teaching or are misunderstanding the teaching and point of the scripture its based out of.
there are also countless threads on this topic in the bible forums.
