I have a couple of questions...how can the church and /or the local community assist those who are family caregivers? How does the church model this?

Thanks for your reply. To clarify, I'm asking about the care for the people who are taking care of the sick or infirmed within their home, who have to put their lives on hold, most of the time.

I'd think the local church could maybe invest in giving a care taker time off from their care taking.

Maybe the church could raise money for an in home nurse to come in for a day or two just so the regular care taker can get away from it.

Even if some folks at church who are capable of care giving could come in to a situation for an hour or so a few times a week, just to give the regular care taker a break, that could be a great blessing.

The local church could also help the care giver by doing some tasks like getting groceries, doing laundry, yard work, home repairs, painting.

Just ask a care giver what they could use help with, then once they tell you, then do it!
