I am Yours
In success or in failure, I am yours
In joy or in sadness
In victory or in defeat
In strength or in weakness
In prosperity or in poverty
In visions fulfilled or in dreams shattered
I will never be afraid
Not of men or of fallen angels
Not of life or of death
Not of today or of tomorrow
Not of sickness or of bad tidings
But I will rejoice in this one thing…
I am yours

Like this, Todd. Thanks. I wrote a poem inspired by the coming fall, but it is a little ecclectic and bizarre. Trying to decide if I'll post it. By the way, do you write music? I was thinking of starting (or maybe there already is one) a thread for songwriters to share ideas and encouragement. Would you be interested?

Whispers of Autumn
Flood my senses
Hushed, swirling voices
Echo through regions deep
Memories
That sift and light
Hinting of hunger
For more of the same

I taste the dark
Melancholy air
With brooding cool
That settles heavy
Lifting in its weight

Intoxicating freshness
Washing inner longing
Till purest, rising,
Becomes clear

And drawn into
This aching
Enticement
This aspiration to growth
I am abandoned...
With this hope
Soon
To rise from the coming death

I wrote lots of poems just after I got saved, hear is one of them:

WET

This is fun don't you think?
And here I was thinking that life truly does stink!
Well,I was wrong,I'd have to say,
Now that God's shown me a much better way.
I like Your life better God,can I tell You that?
Your's is plump & round, mine was rather flat.
Hmm,yes,I'll sample that, yes now I know it's no use fighting tit for tat.
I've learnt that now,thank goodness,I say,
Now I'm fit and strong and will live to fight anaother day.
Although fight is the wrong word-there's none in me now,
I've fought it all out since the day You showed me how.
Now,excitement please come in an abundantly flow,
Let me bask in your waters, obtain that "afterward" glow.
I'm ready to absorb all the fun I can get,
And I'm so very ready to get myself extraordinarily wet!
So,I've got my bathers on and I'm waiting, please come,
I am extraordinarily ready to have some great fun!
Let us dine on it,eat it,absorb it for sure,
then come back and be ready to dive in for more.
Well? When will you be here?
Don't worry,It's now gone,that unnecessary fear.
Eight sharp you say? That's just dandy for me,
I'll be ready and waiting, just you wait and you'll see!
Is that a promise you say?It most certainly is!
I've worked myself up and drank some of life's fizz!

I've found it's not lacking in one singular way,
It's a promise of fun if I promise to stay!
Go home now?Back to that old leaky boat?
No way I'll not be some "silly ole goat"!
I'm not leaving,I'm here to stay that's for sure,
And I know after this lot I'll want to have more!
So ti's supply on demand-as much as I need,
You've supplied the great feast and now I will feed.
On all of life's wonders,it's glory's- ti's finds,
And on this wonderous path I will try to be kind,
To others who want the same as I did,
But have yet to find help to open their lid.
But their time will come, don't you worry 'bout that,
They'll no longer be someone else's door mat.
But they'll rise and be seen, their souls shiny and new,And they'll get to join in on the feast with You too!

I am no good at writing poetry but recently I took a trip to Normandy with my grandfather to visit his WW2 battle sites, we spent time paying respects and laying wreaths at various memorials.

In the intinerary a poem was included that I really liked that helped put things in perspective for me.

By Roy D Hilton

That Special Place

Take my hand and come with me
To a special place across the sea
A sacred place in hallowed ground
A place where love and sorrows found
It's not a church, you'll understand
Just a part of home in another land

A place where gravestone stand arrayed
Like a phantom army on parade
Stand close to me and patience keep
And soon you'll see a brave man weep
He cries for his comrades beneath the stone
And I tell you friend he's not alone

Scenes like this are common place
In our special meeting place
As you stroll down memory lane
Think of us who must remain
And now it's time to say adieu
But remember friends we died for you

>>I knelt to pray but not for long, I
>>had too much to do. I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be
>>due. So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
>>And jumped up off my knees.
>>My Christian duty was now done
>>My soul could rest at ease.
>>All day long I had no
>>time To spread a word of cheer. No time to speak of Christ to friends,
>>They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
>>No time, no time, too much to do,
>>That was my constant cry, No time to give to souls in need
>>But at last the time, the time to die.

A fellow beliver e-mailed me this :)

I wrote this one myself in my Junior year in high school.

Silver

As I lay down to sleep
I think of my silver ring sitting on my table
And the lining of the clouds hovering outside my bedroom window
As the moon casts an eerie glow about their silver linings
The silver velvet draped across my shoulders glitters silently
Like diamonds wrapped in silk and tied with a silver string
A wounded unicorn runs by, with its silver blood leaving a gleaming trail
A silver band to staunch the flow
A phoenix tear to heal the cut
A silvery wizened wizard to make the blood pure
The glass shatters in a silver picture frame in a silver house far away
Where a couple have just exchanged silver wedding bands
A silver spoon cuts the air like a bolt of lightning
A happiness creeps over me in my dream
I know the silver ring will keep me safe
For it has been covered in silver unicorn blood
And blessed by a wizened wizard
When I wake, I know that my dream was reality
And I feel peace

A poem I wrote a while back
SCARS OF LOVE
Time stands still when your heart cries out
Reaching for a love that is lost
Love intertwined with the heart
Leaves it’s scars of both love and sorrow
Then with the smell of a scent or the glance of an eye
At times will cause the tears to flow
These tears fall and mix with the tears of time
Of countless joys and sorrows
They lead to the rivers and oceans of time eternal
Where the life cycle begins anew
So, do not hold back the tears, let them flow
For these are the tears that feed our emotions
They add colors to our lives
That the heart might never had seen
So much beauty and love to remember
Always looking towards tomorrow
Never pondering the pains

Another one I wrote
Set you free
When your heart is low
And there is no where to go
Rise up and look towards Me
For it is I that can set your soul free
Take my hand let me guide you through
The trials that make you so blue
Be not afraid for I am here
You have but to whisper – and you I will steer
To a place where tears won't flow
Where sorrow has another place to go
Where there are only smiles of dreams yet to come
With colors of scarlet and plum
Moonbeams abound
Look here at what we have found
It is unfolding for you, can you see?
For I am the one that can set you free.

One more….
No Words
I wish I knew the way to talk with you
But the words will just not come
I look into you face and try to speak
But your beauty steals my breath
You look at me with love in your eyes
They tell me your heart is mine
Again I try to speak the words not reaching you
I hold your hands I touch your face
It fills me with joy
Again I try to speak…my words seem empty
I reach to touch your skin
So soft like the gentleness of a morning breeze
Again I try to speak but I cannot hear my words
My heart is yours; can feel it in my touch
My soul will never let you down
But the words don’t get around; they seem to never make a sound
The words, I love you, does not fit my feelings
For this there are no words

OK another one…
Second Chance
If we might have a second chance
To live the days once more,
And rectify mistakes we've made
To even up the score.

If we might have a second chance
To use the knowledge we’ve gained,
Perhaps we might become at last
As fine as God ordained.

And though we can't retrace our steps,
Before us stands the score,
Tomorrow brings another chance
for us to try once more.

Last one for now, this is my personal favorite…I hope I did not over do it, but I enjoy writing poetry.

The Sun Nudged Me
The sun rose today, nudging me saying, Hey!
Get up my friend
Take a look around
See what you have been missing
Do not grieve today, no need for sorrow
Welcome to my world of light and tomorrows
Colors abound, just look around
Can you see them? They are there
The world is yours
From the blues of the skies
And a glance of someone’s eye
Take a step look and look at life in a different way
Explore do not be afraid
I will warm your face
And protect you from harm
I am here for you just look my way
Yes, the sun rose today, nudging me saying Hey!

I’ve been missing you,
And I know hear the prayers I pray
And see the tears I shed.

You cared about where I spent eternity
So you ministered to me,
Proud of me you would be.

As I cried
And in a dream you visited me
You asked “Dear friend why are you crying?”

Don’t you know I am no longer in pain
I suffer not,
I’m happy here.

"I met your grandma
And she told me she was proud of you too."

I opened my eyes then
And realized I cant change the past
Or the way I reacted

But I can react differently from now on
When someone ministers to me,
Oh how wonderful a friend you were to me to care so much about me.

I’ve been missing you
And thinking about what you went through
But you made it to the finish line
And for that I’m very proud of you.

So just wait until I get to heaven
So I can hug you and thank you
I’ve been missing you.

I think of you often
There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss you.
But I know you’re waiting for me to get to the finish line.

I wrote this for my friend who passed back in April
