I just became a Christian a little over two months ago and i'm realy burdened to see young people takeing the same road I did. I used to listen to Satanic groups like Dio, Iron Maiden, Black sabath, ozzy, queenryche, and more, which almost took me straight to hell. I grew up in a conservative Christian home but turned my back on God around the age of 18. I am 26 now. When I was younger our family listened to pretty calm music, but how then did I end up listening to metal you ask. I would have never jumped and taken a giant step like that. I first had to cross a bridge ,that bridge is called CCM, or what I like to call the worlds Copy Cat Music. You could take about everylast CCM group and find an exact match with a worldly band. Let's take a look at rock history. Rock music was established somewere in the 50's . In fact Brian Wilson of the Beach Boy admited to trying to bring whichcraft to music. Well guess what the late 60's came around and Larry Norman became one of the pioners of Christian rock, in fact he wrote a song called "why does the devil get all the good music." The early 70's rolled around and so did heavy metal through band like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and more. Then 10 years later in 1984 Stryper the christian metal band formed. Also in the early 80's black metal started forming, Then in the early 90's white or what they tried to call unblack metal came about. So the Christians are compying the world just 10 years behind. " Be not unequaly yoked with unbeleivers, for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion hath light with darkness? Wherefore come out from among them and be ye saparate." I did a deep research on rock music and it is not neutral It is coated with Satanism and the Christian's are unequaly yoked. You say well they are bringing in soul's but are they comming to Christ or are they coming the the music. I know when I went to these concert's my heart would beat like a drum because I was so excited to see my gods (christian rock bands) perform. I know times are very deceptive in fact Jesus warnes in Matthew 24:22 that He will shorten the days because if He didn't even the elect(true christians) would be deceived. I am not saying that all CCM is wrong, But A lot of those band's out there support the evil bands of the world. The women in skillit had a tee-shirt of skull and crossbones which is an occult (satanic)symbol, She also had a picture of David Bowie, a far far from Christian man on another picture I looked up. And when I hear names like the band Demon Hunter I think of it being a satanic band. The Bible says resist the Devil not hunt him down. I'm not trying to make anyone angry because I know it don't take much for a rocker, but I see you people heading off a clift and I'm just trying to worn you to turn back. Help me spread the Word Timjim

Here's what I've got for Christian music.

Audio Adrenaline - Awesome
Blindside - Hard rock / metal
Creed - Cool stuff, but kind of dusty
Johnny Cash - Some of his stuff. Seems like a decent guy.
Newsboys - U2-ish
Paramore - Energetic punk
Project 86 - Hard rock
Switchfoot - Best band ever

there is a lot of Good music that uplift God and the musos that elaberate on the gift that God has given them in musical talent, it also depends what type of music you like, I personally like, Josh groban, mercyme, matt redman, you dont want to listen to anything that will detrement your personality, and will not disturb you if you feel rebellious

My all time favorite singer is Michael Card! His music is best when he sings alone. I have much of his old music. Very meaningful music because it is Biblical.
