Last night I think I broke my ankle... I was up all night waiting to go to the doctors afraid to sleep because I could turn and bend my ankle making the pain worse... I had to go through 12 hours with only ibprofen as my pain killer... I texted my friend saying "I might not be able to make it in to work today". He is the manager and I figured he would line up another to work today... I stayed up for another hour or two waiting for a reply and fell asleep around 11 a.m. When I woke up at 4 I see a text saying "Call me, hows it like being 18 and not having a job".

Thing I forgot to mention I had no idea if I was even going to work today I sent that text out of courtesy if I did work... I was told by him Sunday night that he would text me Tuesday and tell me If I need to work Wednesday. Come Tuesday no text, no warning I was set to work today... My mom is saying call your boss (the owner). I have no Idea what his number is or how to get it... And I checked the phone book and his name is pretty popular...

I don't want to be fired for a 'lack of self discipline'. If he told me when I texted him that I had to work then sure no problem. I checked my messages and the first text is 30 minutes after work started... And this kid is not one to leave a phone untouched... He is constantly texting or talking on it.

Good life lesson. Always get the numbers and names of anyone you make a promise to. And the one you already know that your friend needs to learn - if you are in charge, check your texts, in fact, always overcommunicate.
