I love it! I listen to it all year long. In fact, I have Christmas music on right now. :)

What are some of your favorite Christmas songs and, if possible, the version? There are many songs that I love and there are certain versions of the songs that I love even more. Sometimes, there's a version that just doesn't do it justice.

Share some YouTube videos of your favorite Christmas song and version so others that love Christmas music can enjoy it, too!

This is one of my favorites!

O Holy Night! THIS is how this piece should be sung. I DESPISE all the pop versions of a classical work that was written for classically trained singers. Just my opinion -- as a classically trained singer!

It's funny. That song used to creep me out, but I have no idea why. Now that I'm older, though, I love it. :) It's a beautiful song. BarlowGirl has a great version of it. :D

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! I love Christmas music!!! I'm not a fan of Santa songs, I like the Jesus ones or the regular Christmas ones. O Come O Come Emmanuel is one of my favorites. Here's a version that's a bit different but it's great:

Lol Christmas music is always good. :) It's so peaceful and it always cheers me up, relaxes me, etc. Everything about Christmas I love, except the icy roads of course... I love Stephen Curtis Chapman's Christmas cd. He's real talented. The classics are always good too, like Frosty the Snow Man, Silver Bells, Silent Night, etc.

Christmas movies are great too. The Santa Clause is one of my favorites.

I like O Holy Night, the full Nutcracker ballet (I had the Nutcracker CD playing in my car from last Nov to at least May), and Boney M's version of Mary's Boy Child

I was traumatized as a child by christmas music.

All the kids would go "Deck the halls with bows of HOLLY" then laugh at me :(

I've always liked the Coventry Carol. I fell in love with this version when a choir I was in did this about a decade ago. Not as well known as the "happier" carols, it tells the darker side of the Christmas story, and this version uses disturbing dissonance throughout in its word painting, particularly when the men come in again at 1:11 (the verse tells of Herod's slaughter of the innocents).

Ask me again in like 3 months time. Personally I think it's WAY too early for threads like this.
Let's enjoy summer while it lasts... :)

One of my favourite Christmas carol is the Little drummer/L'enfant au tambour. My French teacher had us listening to it and when she explained to us what the song was about, I started to cry. Now, everytime I listen to it I have tears in my eyes. There is an exception, though, there is a version of this carol posted by Ugly (post 16) that horrified me and almost made me cry out of fear and terror, LOL:D.

My favourite version is the one sang by Nina Mouskouri:
