These forums wouldn't be complete without a thread for the music of one of the best song writers to grace this planet. Why do I call switchfoot the greatest band ever? Good question! They pass all my checks and I can listen to their music with it always being fresh. Here's a few reasons they are so good...
1. The connection with their fans. They release live bootlegs FREE on itunes (over 300), do meet and greets at almost every show, always appear to be very humble and thankful for what they have.
2. The lyrics. Jon Foreman writes with an intense honesty that most songwriters only dream about. He puts his heart on paper and sings it for the world to hear with no thought or fear of what people will think of it.
3. The annointing. The most important one! I have some great worship time with SF's music, even more than I have with some traditional worship music.
4. Shortening Switchfoot to SF gives them the same initials as me!
5. The amount of material they have. When SF does a new album, they don't have 12 songs to pick from, it's more like 50+. Jon is really blessed as a songwriter.
6. Jon Foreman. He is the voice... his brother plays guitar too, but without Jon SF wouldn't exist. He reminds me a lot of cobain talent-wise but he channels his passions, desires and talents to the glory of God! He is an amazing singer who God has blessed with multiple talents, and he humbles himself to be used however God sees fit, by what I can see.
7. umm.. its Switchfoot! (Just didn't want there to be only 6 reasons!)
