Alistair Simms' version is the best, simply because Alistair Simms' acting with the epiphany is amazing.

i tend to agree actors back then didnt have the special affects to keep an audience interested so they had to base a movie on the actors ability to keep the audience's attention

Exactly, no other version comes near the Alastair Sim's version (Scrooge 1951)! :p

There is a newer version with Patrick Stewart which I really like! And the musical with Kelsey Grammer is fun. But you're all right, Alistair Simms is best!

It's not the traditional version of A Christmas Carol, but I like the one with Bill Murray. That one is classic.

Just thinking, the fog, industrial soot, black coats, ghostiness and carriages always go better in black and white.

The Mr. Magoo one is pretty good,
but "Scrooge" with Alistair Sim is my favorite.

The Jim Carrey animated version was surprisingly very good I thought.

I believe you, but I refuse to watch anything with him in it ever
again since he opened his freakishly big mouth about gun control.

As a kid I liked the old black and white Christmas Carols, The Mr. Magoo version and the newer one with Jim Carrey.
I have watched a lot of other versions. Too many to remember them all.

The Muppets Christmas Carol is very good. I also really enjoyed (most of) the Jim Carrey version. It did have some extraneous adventure moments but otherwise, it was surprisingly faithful to Dicken's book.
